 Rootsicali, hailing from the beach town of Oceanside, Ca, is very quickly bringing reggae music to whole new level. Their blend of the traditional roots rock reggae, blues, and jazz combined with good ol’ fashioned “get-the-crowd-moving” rock and roll has rapidly swept away audiences and has turned them into a local phenomena. Their fan base is growing each day as they continue to spread their irie vibes and find ways new ways to connect with their listeners. With emotion-filled lyrics that deal heavily with the individual’s path through life, there is something for everyone in each of their songs. From love to hate, every song is a journey through something fresh and exciting. The band’s politically-charged views about life and the importance of the natural world give their songs and live shows a raw energy that can be felt by people from all walks of life. .. .. Currently, Rootsicali is playing as many shows as possible in order to support the release of their first full length studio album. With several demos already circulating and a wide array of original songs, the first full length CD and supporting tour are being very eagerly anticipated in their hometown as well as the greater Southern California area. .. .. Formed in October of 2005 under the name “NOIZ” by lead guitarist and singer Brandon Hobbs, rhythm guitarist Travis Kaapke, and bassist Jason Ambacher, Rootsicali has since expanded and changed their name as well as added several members to their group. With the addition of a keyboard player, trumpet player, and a third guitarist, their music has really begun to take off and their sound has become original and full. The band has graced the stage with National acts including Groundation, Eek-a-Mouse, and Anthony B just to name a few. Comfortable playing intimate shows at local bars to full on concerts at venues such as the House of Blues or the Coach House, Rootsicali brings a stage presence that is felt heavily everywhere they go.
