This is the song that started the whole iDrop Riddim project, featuring the timeless and soulful vocals of Jamaican reggae artist,  Luciano; and the classic one-drop "iDrop Riddim". The vocals recording done at the end of a session for a Dennis Brown tribute. The uplifting vibe of the iDrop Riddim, and the warmth and presence of Luciano "Never Leave the Roots" vocals, is lyrical testament to reggae roots, Rastafarian culture, and it's message of spirituality, love and peace.

Ishmel Mcanuff (aka: Little Lion, Little Dragon, Trouble Double, et Kenniyata, Ishmael, Ishmel, and Macklaw) was born July 27, 1984 in Kingston Jamaica. Ishmel is the son of reggae great Winston Mcanuff and Viviene Johnson. Coming from a musical family Ishmel was on stage from an early age during Reggae Sunsplash 1987 at 2 ½ years old while his dad was performing.
Ishmel Mcanuff  has his own naturally inspired style, and is a charismatic performer that is sometimes compared to Sizzla, Capleton, and Jah Mason. Rootstime production is honored to have Ishmel Mcanuff be a part of the iDrop Riddim (aka Rootstime Riddim): Various Reggae Artists album. His tune, "Time a Get Tough" carries the strength and wisdom in lyrical advice from his mother, as well as a custom lead melody guitar that is unique to his track on the project; with the guitar highlighting Ishmel's emotional delivery and lyrical content, making it a standout on the album.

It was a tremendous honor to work w an artist and innovator of such magnitude and impact as Mikey Dread; who rarely if ever did songs for/with other producers.  Also known as "Dread at the Controls" for his pioneer reggae radio show, along with his tremendous volume of work as an artist, songwriter, producer, and composer; producing tracks for UB40, and the huge hit for punk rock band The Clash - Rock the Casbah, along with volumes of his own music: As one of ini elders in reggae music, and as a Ras,, this session is one i will allways cherish. This is one of our favorites! There is an original and progressive uniqueness to this riddim from the Jah Soldiers archives that stumped a few singers and DJ due to it's "unconventional" timing before it reach Junior P who took one listen and one take to get the track. Junior P (aka Junior Pang) has a soul-stirring and emotional performance style, that is a testament to his abilities as a sought after singer and songwriter.
