New York-based label Kindergarten Records is thrilled to unveil Ayesha’s (@aye5ha) debut album, ‘Rhythm is Memory’ – 10 boundary-pushing tracks, a shape-shifting percussive journey with electric moments. While intended for maximum dancefloor impact, Ayesha’s first LP is also conceptually thought-provoking and playful, exploring how bodies store and channel creative knowledge.

A pair of label regulars switch up the flavours on the remixes. Sobolik (@tomsobolikmusic) strips back the opener to inject some space and a touch of dub, whereas Despina’s (@despinadespina) take on ‘I Know, I know’ tames some of the og’s wilder impulses to laser-in on strobing breaks and a wobbly low-end groove.

The final katharsis release of 2024 is the 26-track compilation “Physical Force” featuring a wide range of affiliated artists from both the international and local Copenhagen electronic music scene. As the title hints, Physical Force delves into the visceral, bodily aspects of music, inviting its contributors to explore the theme of movement as a central element in their compositions. Each artist was encouraged to focus on rhythm, groove, energy, and the physicality of sound, which resulted in drum-heavy release from start to finish. While there is a consistent emphasis on rhythm and a bodily connection to the music, the tracks vary widely in style and sonic texture, ranging from big melodic anthems, gritty experimental techno, heavy jungle bangers, and beyond.
