A 6 hour excursion recorded at my 2019 residency @ Sandy Bay Beach Club on the small tropical island of Nusa Lembongan, just off the coast of Bali.

A selection spanning Soulful downtempo and eclectic tracks from Funk, Soul, Disco, House, Trip Hop, Yacht rock and any place in between. A a number of solid classics thrown in for good measure.

The first Sandy Bay edition i uploaded some years ago happens to be one of the most popular tracks on my humble music page, so when i found this on my hard drive the other day, i thought it would be a good time to share it with you!

Hot to the mix for edition 002 is longstanding resident and co-curator soundcloud.com/rorycordz, who has carefully helped cultivate the party and collective over the LDS's existence. Determined and driven by collective thinking, recognising that there is power and fun to be had in numbers, he has always had a passion for bringing people together to dance, plan, create and share things. His energy in these areas as well his cheeky grin (and track selections!) are something that gives great value and playfulness to what we do.

Rory has drawn influence from a wide range of genres over the years, experimenting with most forms of dance music from Drum & Bass, Breakbeat, Techno & Various off shoots of House Music. But it was back around the 2009 mark he found a deep appreciation for Disco music and the rhythmic guitar, funky basslines and soulful vocals which paved the way for a lot of the aforementioned genres. 

Now approaching 11 years deep into this love affair, you can still find him playing eclectic sets when not playing as LDS, but one thing is for sure, he knows how to bring that funky magic to the party, this mix selection is exemplary of his appetite for such floor shakers.
