Let's Lynch the Landlord [A 60s/70s Spaghetti Western Mix]

Solid Steel (3rd April) There's a definite Mercury Prize feel to this week, with both guests up for the title last year. 

In Hour 1 it's Young Fathers bombing the airwaves to celebrate the release of their new album 'White Men Are Black Men Too' which is out on 6th April on Big Dada. What can we expect in their mix? We'll leave it to them to explain;

Highlights are…  Ghost Writerz - one of them tunes that pop up and you hope that there will be more with the same kind of inventiveness, that the next one won’t just go to straight up Grime or whatever.

Solid Steel's very own DJ Moneyshot shows us once gain why he's earned the title Mixtape King. No crate is left undug as he works his way through recent Nu-Funk remixes of Duck Sauce's Barbara Streisand, Vintage Psych Rock from July, and Jungle from mans like Benny Page. It all started with the song "Storm" featuring Edan and Mr Lif on my debut Warner Bros LP The Audiences Listening. The song I sampled was by a french group called Vox Populi. I contacted them and their associates Pacific 231 to hear more material from the same time period. Heres what they gave me. Here is a sneak peak. It will be released officially this winter.
