Beneath a Desert Sun

A Man descends from his camel. With serpentine movements, he discovers the body of a man he knows not from which land he hails. Black - is this man's body with the blood of battle. Red - blistered from the scorching sun. Surely he must be dead? A hawk circling overhead sings grievously to him. The man below groans in response, and begins to stir. 

Rolling to his side, a thick mass of ruddy hair spurs to the whisper of the wind, questioning the nature of his features. Fatidical, do they appear. Noble of brow, strong of jaw, and sword within reach. Sand, entombed on his green eyes, slips away as he peers up to the heavens. A desert sun he finds, along with frowning foreign eyes, perched like a pair of carrion birds in the slit of a wispy white veil; stooped sinuously, over a hissing scimitar of bronze.
