Andi is a Brooklyn based-DJ, producer, and founder of the dark synth party and label SYNTHICIDE. Her own aesthetic combines her devotion to underground 1980s Industrial, EBM, New Beat, Italo and Sleazy Synth to create a soundscape that is unarguably danceable. Through her music, she aims to challenge the expectations within the confines of this masculine genre, often focusing on the ideas of revenge and strength through a woman’s perspective. Andi released her first EP, “Corpse To Corpus”, on aufnahme + wiedergabe in 2020.

This all-vinyl mix was inspired by the movie “Wild Orchid”, as well as the slow chugging Eastern-influenced New Beat that is perfect for warm summer nights.

So I wouldn't call this a full-on party mix or anything, but it's pretty much as close as I could ever see myself getting to one for a Halloween-inspired tape. It's comprised mostly of industrial/EBM records from the 80's and early 90's, but there's still a pretty decent spread, genre-wise, as well a couple of relatively new records that i felt would slot in there nicely. A lot of these are some of my favorite dark dance records ever -- some being the more obvious classics, sure -- but there's also some campier stuff thrown in for good measure (y'know, to better encompass the tone of the season and what have you).

anyhow, hope this gets u pumped on playing dress up, and should you stumble upon this in the other 11 months of the year, give it a whirl anyway...might just hold up regardless
