Behrouz Boochani is a Kurdish journalist, author and refugee. He has been held in Australia's Manus island Regional Processing Centre since 2013. Today that's just over 5 years with no knowledge of when he will be resettled. He wrote his book "No Friend But The Mountains Writing from Manus Prison" by sending texts & other social media messages to translator Omid Tofighian over 5 years. The book was published in June 2018 by Picador Pan MacMillian Australia. This book and author has won the 2019 Victorian Prize for Literature.
