From Malmo With Love is a fantastic new various artists EP on the House Music With Love label that explores deep, emotive house music by Alex Moda, Edgar Ariza and Josefine Hellström Hansson. The three artists are all based in Malmö the Swedish city that brought up producers like Minilogue / Son Kite, Johanna Knutsson, Rivet, Per Hammar, Agaric and Ticon. This Swedish label really has A&Red some fine talent here and this is sure to be their classiest release yet.

Up first is Josefine Hellström Hansson offering Water Cave, a truly deep and excellent house cut with big cavernous open spaces, prickly little synth details and a sombre lead synth line that oozes sadness.

Fellow Swede and accomplished rummer Edgar Ariza then gets more upbeat with his propulsive but still rich and deep house roller Nebulous. This one has uplifting chords, dreamy vocals that melt into he groove and a nice sense of drive.

Lastly, a new but fast rising producer who has released on labels such as EQNation and now impresses with A place Called Myanmar. It is a deep and atmospheric techno tune that has soft drums, wavy synths and icy lines that really get under your skin.

This is a classy EP full of genuine mood and deep emotions that continues to mark out House Music With Love as a fine modern day house outlet.

Lemmon - Martinitoren (David Hasert Remix)

For Rosedale 20, Estroe welcomes Brett Longman with his own distinctive style. Brett is a singer/songwriter and producer. He describes his music as “minimal grooves, sensually driven by electro sounds” and got in touch with Estroe after he noticed that she used one of his tracks in a mix. He really liked what Rosedale was doing musically and sent some tracks in. They met in Paris recently and are planning further releases.

The seductive and hypnotic arpeggios in Brett’s Faria conjures blurry daydream fantasies of someone smitten by the romance of new love. Hazy tonal “imperfections” and occasional off-key slivers of metallic melody suggest the idea that while no one is perfect, love can fuse everything together into something beautiful and worth obsessing over. The underlying steady beat and deep pulsing bassline lend themself to the ideas of excitement and anticipation of finding “the one”.

Soft sine wave synth tones and vocoded vocal loops paint the aural canvas in If I Know what Love is. The atmosphere created is like the kind of itching anxiety of misread emotions and body language that one might get when feeling unsure about the direction of a new relationship. Brett’s vocals bring a sense of loneliness to the mix like a deep introversion of one’s mind. Ticking clock-like beats suggest a hesitancy of thought while the somatic bassline rumbles underneath and occasionally roars like the words of a thought that should be said but is suppressed instead.

Like a moment in life where one finds their space and temporarily escapes from their racing mind, Au fil de l’eau invites the listener to indulge in self-reflection. Here, one can see the bigger picture. Brett’s beautifully layered percussive synths and delicate, ever evolving melodic arpeggios represent the intricacies of being alive and how experience and emotion of the past come together and lead to here and now.

Estroe’s interpretation of Au fil de l’eau captures the self reflective essence of Brett’s original track. Again, the elaborate use of gentle melody and arpeggios suggest the complexities of life while syncopated drums add an air of anticipation and excitement that something beautiful is about to happen. Deep bass notes hint at a sense of relief as they give way to soulful string pads near the end of the track like one has found the inner peace one was searching for.

For Rosedale 022 I have used my own tracks and have called the Ep Nocturnal Lullabies as all the tracks were written late at night, and their themes reflect the darkness and late night vibes in different ways: 
Borderline was produced at time when a friend was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. She was obviously struggling with the condition and as her friend I found it pretty heavy to see her go through that.
Nightshift is an ode to all those nightshifts that I worked when I was a nurse. The atmosphere in hospital when people are sleeping, aching and fighting for their lives is difficult to describe so I thought that I’d express it with music.
Slaapliedje is a track that I wrote with the purpose of comforting those who are going through difficult times.
I have recruited the help of D.Diggler to bring a remix to the table for the Ep and he has come up with something pretty special.


Borderline’s nervous and busy percussion, with its scratchy hi hats and twitching clicks and blips take the track down an angst ridden road in an insecure mind. There is a dormant volatility in the track like someone who has been on edge for too long. The percussion is beautifully juxtaposed however, with sombre pads and a haunting melodious bell like synth that morphs throughout like the pensive moods of someone who has to live with the condition. 

D.Diggler sheds a different light on Borderline with his interpretation of the original. This time the focus is more on the melodic side of the track. The bassline dictates the pace as it pulses underneath. The melodious bell synth is still present but the contemplative atmosphere is reinforced with long sweeping pads that give the track a blur, like a passing moment. The nervous turmoil of the original track’s percussion lies in the not too distant background like a reminder of troubled feelings.

Nightshift has an engaging quality in that while full of motion, there is an air of calm in the track. The kick drum and bassline dance around one another in a hurried fashion while restless percussion and blips bustle around in the background like dutiful machines fulfilling their purpose. Yet, the sedate and soothing pads bring a reassuring warmth and humanity to the track. The soft chiming melody rolls through the piece like distant alarms while occasional resonant sweeps sigh like laboured last breaths.

There is an alluring innocence to Slaapliedje. It’s playful springy bassline sets the mood, and with its intermittent resonant peaks, like small birds singing, suggests a fond childhood recollection of a time when the world was full of wonder. Scurrying percussion and more bouncing and sanguine synth elements bring the picture alive in one’s mind. The drone pads bring with them a gentle optimism with their softness and melody and seem to burst into song from time to time like sentimental memories.

02 Estroe - Borderline (D.Diggler Remix) - SNIPPET

With releases on Bar25, Stil Vor Talent and now Poesie, it’d do you good to get acquainted with Daniele Di Martino and his newest cut ‘Lumen’.

The German producer wastes no time getting to the point. The title track breathes a hot thick air around the floor while the bassline’s vibration rattles our bones. The ride is just beginning though, climactic vocals intensify the drama immensely, creating an epic ballad that keeps on giving. Where ‘lumen’ had taken a deeper route, ‘Dramatur’ take us into a darker world of hypnotizing percussive synthwork and a solid pressure building just below the surface the track hits hard and heavy. Finishing off the EP is Martin Waslewski and his acid-eccentric remix of Lumen. Martin gives the track a much rougher edge, and a heap more grit to create a real late-night monster.

Lumen (Original Mix)

German veteran Marc Romboy is back on André Hommen’s These Eyes imprint with a stellar two track release entitled ‘Elka EP’, showcasing Marc’s effortless ability to portray alluring and emotive characteristics through music. This offering follows up from ‘Trapped In An Orbit’, which he released on the label in 2017 and remains a label highlight to this day. 

The title track ‘Elka’ provides a stirring and suspenseful journey that plays out as it’s melodies unfold over a bassline that pulses gently and impels the listener. ‘Unreal Sun’ ups the energy with a groove thats ready to fall into and chords that lead the way, dictating the pace as their intensity undulates. 

Marc Romboy has dedicated 30 years to the scene, with an impressive history of releases on labels like Innervisions and his own Systematic Recordings, collaborating with artists such as Stephan Bodzin. It is a point to be made that the A side to this release is one of Marc’s personal favourites to date and it is clear to see why.

Rosedale Records, led by electronic music artist Estroe, is making a comeback with a renewed focus on modular synthesis. After a hiatus, the label is set to release innovative music, featuring works by Estroe, Raaf, and their collaborations as a duo.

In recent years, Estroe has balanced her role as an educator and coach at the conservatory for electronic music with her growing fascination for modular synthesis. This passion led her to explore new sonic landscapes and develop a distinctive modular setup.

The label’s relaunch introduces a fresh visual identity, reflecting the abstract, experimental, and melodic elements of its music. The first release will be Estroe’s solo EP, composed entirely on her modular system, showcasing intricate textures and emotional depth.

Estroe and Raaf are also collaborating on live performances, sharing glimpses of their creative process with audiences. With this new chapter, Rosedale Records aims to connect with listeners and embrace the ever-evolving nature of music and creativity.
