An ashen-grey cat wandered in.  "Can't you see me, either?" My right hand reached out to stroke it. But it futilely slipped through its body, pawing the air.  "Maybe I actually am dead?" I hug my knees and though I tug at threads to the past For those little troubles, for my family's faces, I remember none of them, And with illuminated houses in the distance  And the set-off fireworks blooming in the sky. In view, I gloss over the now. The end of the summer has come and gone. The children's rumors dissipate, too. Like the trails of aroma from incense smoke. My form too faded out, and soon vanishes.  I was only a single rumor to a single summer. Born in the start of June. And receded at the end of August, When my consciousness became a mere silhouette.  No one ever found her, but In her recesses of memory, as a piece of faded days that once were, She will remain. The song of the sunflowers expired. The cicadas have also died, and in the mansion Where only the scent of summer lingers, The girl is perhaps already gone.
