I began writing this song right before my father was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer and died (~2003), and I didn’t finish it until about three years later.  The song is special to me because it linked together my childhood and adulthood. 

The main musical inspiration for this song was a rhythmic idea from a Beethoven composition. 

Despite this one being so old, I only recently completed a decent recording of it.

Forever More

For a subset of my songs, I've focused on transitioning smoothly from one song to the next, with several shorter songs linking together to produce one longer song. The goal is to make the longer song coherent/structured over a longer timescale than is usual in pop rock music.   This track is two of the songs, with the first transitioning into the second.  I think when it's done there will be five shorter songs combining to produce one longer song.
