Intuition

The 'short story' esque album style is something that really started to develop while making my first album 'A New World' and for me it's the best approach to writing my own music. 
This time , "Dreamstate" sonically explores the different kinds of sleep cycles and dream worlds with a focus on more experimental and ambient sound. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I'm very excited to hear what you think. 
"Dreamstate"-like many of my recent works-probably benefits a lot from viewing it as more of an experience and less as background music. So, if you have the opportunity, please put on some headphones (or listen through a good speaker system), sit or lay down somewhere quiet, close your eyes, and let your mind wander while listening to these tracks. 
I don't mean this in a pretentious way. My writing process actually involved a lot of meditating and listening with my eyes closed as well, and I think it really helps with the whole dream feel I was going for. Either way, I hope you enjoy it.

Dreamstate

Hey! This year has been pretty rough for me. I had to deal with some life situations that really unearthed a bunch of fears, trauma and made me evaluate my identity, beliefs, goals and honestly just left me feeling really confused about everything. It feels like this has been somewhat of a global phenomenon and I wish everyone (especially the people who need it the most right now) much, much love, support, peace and compassion for themselves and others.

The two tracks that make up Vision Quest emerged from that time in my life and while I understand they may not be for everyone, I never really felt like I have much control of what music I make/expresses itself through me, so I'm happy to share them with you.

Right now things are still somewhat difficult but there is also a new form of stability, peace and love growing inside, I already feel a pull towards exploring new things and I am excited to see where that takes me.

It's good to be back!
After taking some time off from making music, I really wanted to re-establish a healthy and intuitive connection to it.

Working on music the past month has been a bit of a struggle.
Everything I wrote, I overanalyzed and dumped. Nothing was good enough. 
It got to the point where I didn't enjoy making music that much anymore. And that is truely fucked up for me.

So, one day I thought, fuck it, I will force myself to finish and upload the next track I start and I did just that.
This track is far from being perfect, but if I don't get back in the habit of regularly uploading music again, I probably would've never uploaded again. 

So yeah, a lot of cool things coming your way from now on. I'm gonna be active on social media (Instagram, Twitter and Youtube) + more new music, of course :)

Hey everyone!
Long time, no listen.

As some of you may know, I started working on my EP about 2 weeks ago and I actually more or less finished it, but I was very unhappy with the result. 
It felt very rushed and I didnt feel any sort of connection with the tracks I made anymore.
Situations like these are really difficult for me, since I just want to give in to my "perfectionistic" side, delete it all and start over with the EP and take my time until it's "perfect"...
But not only is this an unattainable goal (and also just my insecurities hiding behind "perfectionism"), I also know it's not a good way of handling things in terms of the business side of music.
I know I should release music very often, without thinking about it too much.

So what do I do? 
I knew I'd have to find a solution somewhere in the middle.

So I decided to regularly release music in a "single" way (without thinking too much about it and approaching it in a more "quantity vs. perfect" type of way), while working on my EP from scratch and giving myself more time for it.

The two tracks I'm releasing today are actually tracks that started out being ideas for the EP, but I was very unsure about them, I acutally still am, but I know, I need to get over my insecurities because in the end, no one cares even remotely as much as I do about my music.

Anyways, hope you still find these tracks entertaining. Will see you very soon with more music and at some point in the close future, with my EP :)

Imagination

November Leftovers - A collection of ideas, that I started around november, but that never seemed to develop into a "full" track.

This happens a lot in music production, you start ideas that may even seem super interesting and unique, but you never quite seem to be able to develop them into a "finished" song (even despite all your efforts).

I talked about this phenomenon a lot with fellow producers and it seems to be a "problem" for everyone. Music seems to write itself and sometimes that means things just don't go anywhere (that's also why it's so hard to do something twice or do a similiar track to a popular one, since for most artists, they have no clue, how they actually made that particular track - it just happened).

Normally when this happens to me, I just put those ideas (the ones that don't go anywhere) in a "scrap" or "abandoned projects" folder and categorize them by their content (eg. drum beats - if it's only a beat I made, 8bar loop, sound design etc.).

So I basically treat those abandoned projects as a sample or track starter collection, in case I run out of ideas. But in my 2 and a half years of making music, I rarely made use of this system.
So I decided I would just release those ideas this month, or atleast the ones that are somewhat developed.

I still plan on doing a full and "proper" release for Rosentwig in december. I'm currently working on multiple projects. Most of them for 2019. One I can talk about, is a collection of ideas for my second Soundcloud "Maximilian Zantis". It's going to be a sort of "portfolio of sounds" and I will release it around january/february of 2019.

I also would love to do a full album in 2019 for Rosentwig. But no promises for that - but I can definitely say, that there will be quite a lot of intersting projects in 2019. Both for my music as Rosentwig and my composing work as 

Maximilian Zantis. Also be sure to follow me on my socials (Instagram, Youtube and Twitter because I will be releasing more stuff on there aswell - atleast I'll try, hahha.)

Hey everyone!
With this EP I wanted to go back to a more "chillwave" sound again.
Generally when making music, some kind of aesthetic or mood hits me me and thats how I come up with the ideas for my tracks and with this it definitely was that oldschool chillwave/dreamwave vibe - mixed with some chiptune.

I already got a really cool idea for my next Rosentwig release, it's gonna be something quite different (probably a full length concept album - thats atleast the idea/plan at the moment).

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this EP :P

This year I'd like to focus on building my relationships in the gaming business further and just make some cool music!
I've decided to change up my release schedule from albums/eps to more of a single approach. Essentially I'll try to release music more frequently but only 1-2 songs at a time.

Latibule started out as just a chord idea but it quickly developed into this atmospheric non drums piece. 
I mainly kept it that way (but you'll hear when you're actually listening to it haha).
