I wrote History as a collection of stories I have from many women I know and their relationships with men in their lives. I wanted to tell a story about generational trauma and the pain so many women I know go through in love trying to fill the spaces And sometimes ending up somewhere even darker. I wanted it to feel like a old folk song. One to take you on a ride and really submerge you into the world of this character- Sarah. And even though the songs story is sad, i didn’t want it to feel sad. I wanted it to still feel hopeful; there is always hope, even when it seems the darkest.

Roses Gabor’s 2012 single ‘Stars’ announced her as one of the most exciting new voices in British music. Roses’ new single, ‘Rush,’ is rightly named. Made in an electrified, inspired couple of hours with producer MNEK (Rudimental, Duke Dumont, Tinie Tempah) in his East London studio, it’s utterly compulsive. Roses says that the song is about the electrical chemistry that links two people together, the unseen but unbreakable forcefield. Never has a song expressed its content so perfectly. ‘It’s the magnetic charge...The life in the pit of your stomach...That Emotional connection .... All these things you can’t run away from … even if you wanted to...."

And Rush is indeed a magnetic charge of a song, arctic-fresh and hypnotically gripping. One listen is all it takes - you’ll be quite happy to surrender to it.
