The beginning of a new calendar year brought with it the fusion of veteran musician Thom Donovan and emerging Nashville native Kendall Morgan, as they formed the darkly charming duo Rossi. In the tradition of many musical unions, it was a mutual friend, and now manager, Allison Nellis, that introduced the pair over dinner. 

Immediately drawn together by a reciprocal fascination with forgotten language and an acute awareness of worldly strife, the two quickly parlayed this into a symphonic projection of shared ideas. There is a noted political consciousness found in Rossi’s lyrics, conveyed through elegantly constructed metaphors and alluded imagery. Morgan’s ethereal voice could haunt the cobwebbed halls of a gothic church, albeit one equipped with electric bass. Donovan’s blend of classical guitar and experimental keys make for a twistedly whimsical experience, like walking through an enchanted forest of orchestral sound. 

It’s this juxtaposition that made U.K. bloggers take notice when Rossi released two singles—'Ossetia' and 'War Within'—earlier this year through various social media outlets, including Bandcamp and Youtube. Their single, 'Overload', was featured on the hit CBS drama, "The Good Wife". Following the initial positive reaction, Rossi opened for a sold out performance by internationally known Mona at The Basement in Nashville. They are currently writing and ruminating on their first EP, tentatively titled “Brittle Bones”.
