'Samma Sankappa' or 'Right Intention' is the concept of actively developing the mind such that we have the intentions of harmlessness, renunciation, and goodwill. In Western culture, we most frequently associate good intentions with the quality of being deliberate. However, inspecting our own intentions more deeply can reveal to us the nature of our mind's connection to the external world and how we impact it through our thoughts, words, and actions. If we clarify and purify our intentions; inwardly we develop a more deliberate internal dialogue, outwardly we conduct ourselves in an ethical manner because our intentions (and understanding thereof) directly affect our speech and actions. Inspired by right intention, I composed this song, one in an eight-part series of Dharma Jazz from 2022-2023 to celebrate the dharma and it's impact on all our lives
