Mac V makes his debut for Rotation Audio Friday 09/08/24 with two mid summer heaters. From Amsterdam with love, this liquid jungle style two track release is sure to get you hooked for the duration.

Carbonated is a beautiful two track EP from Rafael, combining melodic synth lines, crisp drum rolls and tight low ends. Don’t be fooled by the bright album art, though both tracks hold high levels of clarity, MAC Vs dark warfare persona is expressed through his production in both tracks. Especially dark days. Remember the light is never far. 

Carbonated starts floaty like them fresh bubbles in your tipple. Mesmerising hi hats introduce solid half time percussion and spacey atmospherics throughout give structure to the ambient textures slowly drifting in and out of the composition. A true listen, joyful to the ears, get lost in the music, and if you’re not somewhere you want to be, let the track take you to where you are. 

Dark Days just hits a bit harder, the prominent processed synth riff gets you hooked from the outset, drum rolls take you into the mix where sub laced jungle infused basslines cushion the amen percussion. Brought together beautifully, the whole track feeling like a battle between all elements of the production. 

Militant beats in the finest art form.

An apt sequel to Mono’s ‘Consciousness EP’ for Samurai offshoot Shiro,
hypnotic and cerebral rhythms create a sense of lethargy, until a cunning and devious manoeuvre with harsh acid effects escalates to atmospheric distress.
If the aim justifies the means, then Mono’s track title is self-explanatory.

Sicknote & Dissect – Charge
One of the most versatile production duos, this time around they swap celestial and cosmic landscapes for old-school dance floor aesthetics. A catchy vocoded hook over a relentless amen assault and a bass drop worthy of a ‘Manor’ night. A change you didn’t see coming.

Slider & Expose – Dark World
Dark World is a classic darkcore theme by the Dust Audio Duo Slider & Expose framed in a contemporary context. An uncompromising force of reverberated bass and time-stretched breaks takes you for a whirling ride invoking your deepest fears. One more refusal and you’ll be left in your dark world forever.

Drum Cypha – Bad Hair Day
Fusing hardcore mechanics with modern production techniques Drum Cypha blurs the timelines. What if beginning and ending are both words that capture that exact moment in time? As the title suggests, when everything is going downhill, rave stabs and Amen rolls bring you back to where you should be.

Rotation Audio’s third instalment is an introduction into our digital series. RA003 see's Foreseer making his debut release for the label.

The EP blurs the boundaries between minimal rolling darkness and distorted amen-break percussion. Foreseer teases the listener at points with tracks The Decent and Apparitions, holding solid ground to his original production attitude whilst establishing new techniques from his current workstyle. Tracks Do One and Double Cross resemble a rolling Hardware style deliverance, with similarities from Sicknote & Dissects track Charge on RA002. Merkey lines up on the duo alongside Foreseer with track Double Cross, also making his debut for Rotation.
