Moo Moonster debut EP Consort of Zeus on Ya Hala Ya Hala rocks an Italo disco vibe in some style, convincingly recreating the muscular vibe of the era. In the artist words; “Europa, is a reminder that there is always light in the midst of dark. The first part of the track is the hypnosis process to believe in that light at the end of the tunnel. In the second part of the track, you'll end up in an apotheotic part where the light shines brightly. At the time I started producing this track I was listening to references like Lama's "Love Is on The Rocks" and Steel Mind's "Bad Passion" I wanted the synths and pads to be classically cut, to create that current Italo sound in which I feel represented. Claudia's (Final Grrl) stuttering vocals were the perfect complement to closing the track.

Hera, was produced in the midst of the Covid crisis, I was already recovered and I felt comfortable sailing again by darker sounds like electro and EBM. The vocals were thought this time from the beginning of the track, with messages for those energy vampires who walk the earth. The choice of language was a nod to one of my favorite bands Liaisons Dangereuses. On this track, I wanted to represent myself in full energy, with a guitar riff, and a melody straight out of an 80s movie where the protagonist is in trouble.”

On the remix duties is leftfield innovator Autarkic, who brought his dub, psychedelic rocky, swampy techno sound to Europa.The producer's standout work has arrived on labels like Turbo, K7 Records, and Malka Tuti, not to mention his latest highly acclaimed album ‘Term & Conditions’ on DJ Tennis Life and Death.

After well-received releases on labels such as Ombra International, Correspondant, ROAM and ME ME ME, Italy's Amarcord delivers a remix of Europa where he showcases his flair for producing dynamic, synth-driven tracks influenced by the cosmic quirks of the 80s.

Playground Records is pleased to present “Swing Ride”, the 38th’s label reference by a dear friend of the house, the mighty Roe Deers. Almost two years after ‘Lazer in the Jungle’, his first vinyl release on our catalogue and with a bunch of hot releases on labels like Turbo Recordings and Futureboogie under his arm, the Lithuanian maverick is back with a brand new EP.

‘Swing Ride’ is a mysterious percussion song with crazy horns. It feels like the ‘Ship of Fools’ calling before setting sail, but It’s basically a club-ready track to be played in a proper dark and sweaty room.
‘Glass Around’ is a bit more raw, you might sense the expansive wave of a strong psychedelic punch. Finally, the third original track, ‘Autobahn 2002’, could work as a homage to the legendary German robots.

On the remix side, Multi Culti’s boss Thomas Von Party delivers a twisted narcotic version of ‘Swing Ride’, meanwhile Mexican geek ALF CHAMPION turns ‘Glass Around’ toward a dub-experimental mix.

Coming soon on Espacio Cielo a release from an artist the Spanish label has been for a long time looking very much forward to having on board: Acclaimed Mexican producer Juan Soto presents his brand-new alter ego, Juan To Tree, delivering a fresh EP with two original tracks dedicated to mother earth in which he shines both as a producer and vocalist. In the remixes, Barko takes the vibe to a more acidic field seasoned with drums in breaks style, while Pastor, member of the band Jeff Mental, is carried away by Latin influences and bass music.

It is still not clear the exact sonority we can expect from this new moniker, Juan’s versatility and multi-talents allow him to flirt with whatever soundscape he is willing to explore. He began his career as an independent music producer and DJ in 2006 and since then has been active in various fields of electronic music, being part of the duo called Moon Runner and also collaborating with Mexican and international artists such as Bufi, Avanti, Rodion, Lou Teti, AIMES, among others.

In the track we chose to premiere/review, “Danza Ritual”, Juan explores his Disco-Not-Disco & Techno-Not-Techno influences. The result is a groovy and stomping Indie-Dance-infused theme, whose main elements – the minimalistic vocals and the bouncing synth layers – deliver an energetic piece with high danceability. We are looking forward to checking Juan’s future endeavours under his new alias.

Things had changed since people had got word of the untouched beauty of this forest. Once it had been home to all manner of birds, bugs and animals, blissfully unaware that they would soon be pushed out of their home in favour of humanity. Where tree branches once sprawled and thick green ivy had laced its way into the crumbling brickwork of ancient pathways, now glass buildings towered overhead and chain coffee shops teamed with tourists getting their morning caffeine fix. Regeneration had taken over, gentrification had creeped in. The endless battle of man vs nature.

For their seventh release, Vienna-based imprint Belly Dance Services enlist the talents of Mexico's Bufi AKA Theus Mago. Titled Baile Muerto, the EP flaunts Bufi's signature take on modern dance music; at times dark and hypnotic and at others bright, percussive and tropical-tinged. Both original tracks on the release are backed up by two remixes, one from label heads Hanzo & Yaman and another by Multi Culti boss Thomas Von Party.

Our hermano Diaz Tech (SXDNS089) has just returned from his trip to Saturn, where he settled his brand-new studio in partnership with some local artists, and brought some heliocentric influences for his forthcoming release on the dangerous and lethal Mexican label Veneno. Featuring three powerful originals and three outstanding remixes – made with love by Velika (Mars), Chinosynth (Jupiter), and Favio Inker (Neptune) –, "Euxphoria EP" combines cosmic vibes with good ol' Mexican Techno and the result is a delight!

We chose one of the originals to premiere: “Las Voces De La Noche” is definitely the theme that presents the most striking interplanetary influences. Ethereal pads, disco stabs, a laser-like percussion, a bouncing bassline… together, they bring to life a remarkable piece – one of the best works of Diaz Tech so far. This is only the first release of the year from the prolific and ingenious Mexican producer, and we are already looking forward to checking his future creations.

Directly from Mexico, FLXXX gives us an EP, very well seasoned, like that spicy full of suspense, that makes you feel its fury and then delivers an addictive flavor.
So this duo makes us travel through the groove based on a pure slow combustion, delicate but strong like a locomotive. Its enigmatic synth lines break every orthodox ear, sliding through dark disco tints and electro reminiscences.
This twelfth reference from Side UP Works offers us two Original Mixes full of dance power, and cherry on the cake, the New Yorker Facets adds fuel to the fire with a forceful remix full of character, capable of enthralling the most demanding dancer, and to culminate And as if all this were not enough, the Spanish Álvaro Cabana and Azaria add to this magnificent work, a most excellent remix taken from the very matrix.
