Hosting episode 15 we have Leipzig-based DJ & Producer @deejaydetox. 

DJ Detox has been producing for a number of years and we're sure many of you guys are aware of what DJ Detox is all about! You lot may know him from releasing on some of the scenes most consistant labels such as FTP, Raiders and more. 

In 2020 DJ Detox released a EP on Leipzig label "R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings" where he put together 4 bass driven tracks showcasing his mastery of electro, techno & breaks. 

The mix he has concocted for us today is very different and refreshing, Detox has put together a real nice set for you guys this week. Delving into various styles and keeping the energy high throughout with seamless and lovely mixing.

Like a heatwave burning the skin with no kindness, Rio de Janeiro based producer and sound engineer a_hank light things up with "Phase In", his debut EP on Domina label.

Dragging dance floor energy, bass science, and junglist feel, the EP reunite 5 killer jams from a_hank, and a remix by Ananda, juxtaposing metallic chords, modular synthesis and rusty drums with syncopated rhythms.

As our 11th statement, "Phase In" draws a personal portrait of a low-key figure from the rave movement in Brazil nowadays, breaking the limits of post-apocalyptic body music.

Domina is a Brazilian label dedicated to underground and experimental electronic music produced locally nowadays.

"Canteer" kicks off at a high pace as a hard-hitting jam with harsh snares, bold kick drums, and an evolving electro feel.

"X-tex" and "Ravo" morph fast drums with incisive stabs and nasty chords, reflecting on classic-influenced old school rave bangers.

"Assay" fuses peak-time modular experimentation and floating grooves with a breakbeat flavor.

"Kintsugi" takes it to a more inner place, with its hypnotic groove and entangled patterns.

"X-tex Midnight Scream Remix", signed by upcoming producer Ananda, important piece of Rio's underground party scene, brings a mysterious trance vibe with a persistent kick drum on top of echoing pads.

Fresh off his inclusion on Haus Of Altr's massive mission statement HOA010 compilation, Escaflowne makes a proper introduction with The Stimulus Pack EP - five tracks of souped-up house music filled with addictive grooves, gritty acid, soaring diva vocals, and divine rave stabs.

Detroit mastermind Huey Mnemonic provides the cherry on top of the whole thing with his full-tilt breakbeat driven "Midnight Maurader Mix" of the Let No Man Put Asunder sampling "Beybah." Originally hailing from Flint, Michigan, Huey Mnemonic a.k.a. PJ Swerve has made his greatness known through his 2019 Vanity Press 12", a bootlegs split with DJ Swisha for Vanity Press imprint Hot 'N' Ready, and the launch of his new Subsonic Ebonics label this month with his Virtuosity EP featuring MoMa Ready.

Exhausted Modern's debut full-length titled The Year of the Rat is a proof of the thought-provocation that author's name generates. Released on his own Endless Illusion imprint, the album doesn't have all the answers, it simply offers Exhausted Modern's perception of the modern times and also the energy to do something with them. The title, borrowed from the Chinese zodiac calendar, doesn't slip to mere esoteric prognosis, it fittingly and provocatively comments on broken mechanics of society, capitalistic hierarchisation and emotional frustration of its victims. Despite the dystopian character of Exhausted Modern's sound, which ranges from fast melancholia through suspicious calmness to slowly bubbling rage, it doesn't feel like the end of the world. It's critical artistic statement of a person who despite seeing all the darkness, also sees the way out of it.

A very warm welcome to our long distant friend - Julio Araujo aka Dagga, joining us today for our fourth mix series. 

Originally from Venezuela, now based in Bogotá, Columbia - the DJ, producer and visual artist has been ticking all the right boxes, while making a pretty damn good name for himself. International Chrome regular and most recently released a raw 12 track LP with Steel City Dance Discs, along with unreleased material doing the endless rounds and highly supported by standout artists. Heavily influenced and triggered by electro, techno and old-school rave, mixing his skills with his authentic passion is only a recipe for success. Next year is set out to be his biggest year yet!

The don dada provided us with a two hour mix featuring some of his own material, stuff he has been digging lately and also some tracks from our compilation. Get loose!
