Rough Crux Entertainment Management was founded in 2018 by Benjamin Washington, a Baltimore native while enrolled in his second year of college with the intention of managing underground artists without restricting their creative process. As an artist himself, Washington became frustrated with how he was managed in the past because he felt like he lacked the freedom to be the artist he wanted to be and the promotion necessary to make an impact on the mainstream level. In the summer of 2018, he cut his losses and began to promote and market himself as an independent artist. As the year began to conclude, Washington began to manage upcoming DMV artists Jony! and Sl!t Wr!t and established Rough Crux Entertainment Management in order to help other independent artists promote and market themselves.
