After some unexpected technical acrobatics, today brings the drop of my February Hot Mix appropriately entitled Falling Into March (The Facebook Poll decided this, so thank you to all that voted!).

It's  a delve into the more trippy side of my music. It's really carved to take you on a journey. 

From the layering drum build of @mbootyspoon 'Spread That Kat' to the percussive acid banger that is @steve-lawler's remix of 'Humanity' by Re. You and @floyd-ravine, all the way to the gorgeous, melodic 'Pennywise' from @kenayakawa, this is a set that really gives you permission to close your eyes and disappear for a while.

This week, Roukin sits down with Understated Recordings co-founder and resident DJ, Monsieur Frazier. They discuss everything from how the label came together to the current state of the underground and how the scene can impact society positively. Upcoming EP on 'Visions' by Raid Zero has its premiere.

We are getting close to rounding out another year here at LAMP. This week we decided to stick with local producer and DJ Stefan Seay. If you are familiar with the Los Angeles underground house scene at all then it is safe to say that you are familiar with The 900 Block member and one of their resident DJ's. Additionally Stefan has been making moves with his productions this year. Most recently his EP Chicago for Understated Recordings has been getting a lot of great press. You may have caught our premier of the Julian Montenegro remix a few weeks ago as well.  Coming fresh off their 4 year anniversary just last week Stefan gives us a great mic that is just pure house down it its very core. Exceptionally well put together he really embodies the spirit and vibe of classic house music vibe with this mix.  It has a little bit of everything to get you going, so get your dancing shoes on and get your body moving. Happy Holidays from the LAMP family.

DJ since 1994. Actor since 2001. Lover of House Music forever... 

ROUKIN began spinning house music in 1994 in a garage in Southport in North West England. He was hooked by the early sounds of warehouse parties brought home by older brothers and weekly visits to Cream, Liverpool throughout the 90s. His sound is laced with punchy groove driven House,  Disco and Jackin House. Playing across 4 decks and layering his sets with self made samples he curates a sound all of his own.

ROUKIN is resident DJ at Avalon, Hollywood and the host of the official @understatedla podcast L.A. Underground.
