The Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major, K. 525 was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1787. The work is more commonly known by the title Eine kleine Nachtmusik. The German title means "a little serenade", though it is often rendered more literally but less accurately as "a little night music". The work is written for a chamber ensemble of two violins, viola, and cello with optional double bass, but is often performed by string orchestras.

Étude in D-Sharp minor, Op. 8 No. 12 is an étude for piano composed by Alexander Scriabin in 1894. It features many technical challenges, including numerous jumps in the left hand, repetitive chord strikes, and abundant octaves. It is a particular favourite among pianists and audiences alike. One of his earlier Études, written when Scriabin was around the age of 23 the strong influence of Chopin on his early musical language can be heard quite clearly here - the rhythmical figure of the theme is seemingly a reference to the Chopin Étude of the same number (i.e. the Revolutionary Étude). Yet, even amongst all of the "Chopin" flavours heavy Russian influence which is distinctively Scriabin. There has been somewhat of a Scriabin revival over the last few decades, and appreciation for his musical output has been growing - something he truly deserves given this statement made about him: "No one was more famous during their lifetime, and few were more quickly ignored after death." Étude Op. 10 No. 4 in C# minor, known as the Torrent Étude, is a study for solo piano composed by Frederic Chopin in 1830. It was first published in 1833 in France, Germany, and England as the fourth piece of his Études Op. 10. This study, a very fast Presto con fuoco, features continuous sixteenth notes (semiquavers), in perpetuum mobile fashion involving both hands.
