Welcome back to Timecheck ⏰, a mix series where we dive into old, sometimes overlooked music scenes. Summer is finally here so it's obvious that the best genre to dance to under the sun, with a cold beer in your hand is Euro House. 🌞
Cringe? Well, some people think that Euro House (or Eurodance) is an embarrassment to electronic music, and wouldn't they? It combines house, techno, hip hop, hi-nrg and disco with awful vocals, painfuly rapped verses and according to wikipedia cutting-edge synthesizer sounds. Then why every synth sounds like a fruity loops preset? 
Still it has its own charm and it always put a smile on my face when I hear some Euro in the party, especially now that we can come together again. So don't be afraid, embrace the Euro House sound. 💞 The mix contains classics from the early 90's (did Mr Vain call you yet?) and some beautiful flowers I found during my Euro exploration. 🎹

Welcome back to Timecheck ⏰, a mix series where we dive into old, sometimes overlooked music scenes. This time, we take a flight, high above the clouds, with the power of early 2000s progressive house. ✈️
It's one of those genres, which is capable of completely clearing the dance floor, but why? It has all the elements needed to create a long, euphoric night. Hard hitting bassdrums, tribal rhythms, chugging basslines, spacey pads, mysterious vocals and dubby, out of this world chords. 🌙 In a sense, it is a combination of house and trance, with the soulful, booty-shaking elements toned down. 
But the trax are long, monotonous, and these days when we lack patience, it's hard to find time to truly appreciate the hypnotic effect progressive house can provide. So if you have some time, allow me to take you to the skies, with my favourite progz from the early 2000s. 🎵

Welcome to Timecheck ⏰, a mix series which will dive into old, sometimes overlooked music scenes. First up is everybody's favourite genre, Tech House from the early 2000's. 
But this is not just any Tech, these trax infused House, with hypnotic tribal drums, groovy disco basses, dark, atmospheric sound effects and haunting vocals. The jams could go on forever, creating the perfect vibe for the afterhours, when the first sunrays hit the dance floor. Originates from the US from legends like Halo Varga, Hipp-E, Onionz and DJ Jes, then it quickly spread around the world like a wildfire. 
While it didn't last long, and it got a bad reputation, mainly because the trax were quite simple, and very repetitive, (and yes I meme a lot with tech house🤷‍♂️) I think playing these joints at the right time, can really pull the crowd into another dimension. I recorded this mix last year, and it features some absolute classics like Halo Varga's Future, and a few hidden gems from my personal vinyl collection. 
I hope, when we can all dance safely again, I can play on or two of these jams so we can all experience the West Coast Sunrise movement. 🌄
