For this week's podcast we invited Catena to do a mix for us. Driven by a passion to make people dance, the 21 year old from Haarlem provides a multi-genre Techno mix with nice variations in old school and new school tracks. As Noah describes his own style, "fresh and danceable".

After he plunged into House and Techno music at the end of 2020 and did an internship at BRET last year, he quickly learned a lot about the ins and outs of the local scene. In addition to a busy school life last year, he could often be found in the BRET, Lofi or Radion. When we ask about his view on the scene, Catena says: “In the Netherlands, the scene is full of young talent. I think that's great. For the rest I like that everyone is themselves and that they are not influenced by others. ''

In terms of playing, his inspiration mainly comes from artists such as D.Dan, Blawan, Stranger/Tafkamp, ​​Vil and especially Rene Wise. Rene Wise was one of the first names he immersed himself in and stood out for him with his qualities both behind the decks and producing. He doesn't want to describe his own style as a certain kind of Techno, with this mix he wanted to show that it is not necessary to do this. It goes from tracks with more percussion and rhythm to the deeper tracks and so on.

Besides spinning, he also produces and he is also interested in arranging the programming at a club and thus creating the line ups and booking artists. For the rest, he continues to develop himself and is certainly an artist to keep an eye on!

Jacklyn is a techno DJ/Producer based in Newcastle navigating through puristic techno styles. Her music is a clear reflection of why she curates such organic sounds within the underground scene in the North of the UK. In her impressive contribution, the previous Rinse FM radio guest toys with atmospheric landscapes, cooking together moodier raw European techno styles with synth-loaded Detroit-esque bombs. 

Jacklyn’s self released productions via her bandcamp page has gained traction among many artists contributing to the darker and hypnotic techno sounds and was also welcomed to a trip in Berlin for her legendary Tresor debut last year.
