Time is defined as the quantity that measures the motion of mutable things. Time is the movement from the past to the present and finally to the future. To do anything, you will always need time: to study, play, work. You will also need time to cook and then eat, but also just to sleep. Time should not be measured in hours and minutes, but in transformations.
Lorenzo Magnozzi's EP is a proof of his musical depth which has roots in a very vintage sound, an almost primal sound but moving towards the future. Classical rhythms and never predictable melodies, a live arrangement, unexpected rhythmic changes and unexpected events, these are his characteristics that we can hear in his compositions.
The sounds of the classic 909 and 707 along with the analog melodic basslines are the heart of the groove, and everything above with the melodies and soundscapes are the representation of how deeply rooted the true and deep roots of the House, Techno of Dance Music.

Në nji kontekst politik të udhëhequn nga konservatorizmi i Thatcher-it – ndërkohë që regjimet komuniste në evropë po kolapsonin gradualisht – qyteti i Manchester-it kultivoi rizomën ma nevrotike thuejse të çdo zhanri muzikor. Pavarësisht përshkallëzimit të papunësisë dhe kriminalitetit që e karakterizonte, tendencat “baggy”, kitarrat “jangle” e ritmet “acid house” të huazueme nga binomi Detroit/Chicago, pa përjashtue ato “hip-hop” të MC-ve apo fenomenet e dizajnit grafik (Freaky Dancin’), e shndërruen në qytetin e “24 hour party people”. Faktor i parrëgjueshëm i gjithë kësaj ishte edhe vërshimi i drogave sintetike, që gjetën strehë kryesisht në lokalin e famshëm (e famëkeq) “Haçienda”, të krijuem në vitin 1982 nga pjestarë e bashkëpunëtorë të grupit New Order. 
Megjithëse skena muzikore në fjalë i ka rrâjët në “post-punk”, sikurse degët ma të dukshme në “britpop”, janë vitet e ndërmjetme dhe lisergjike ’80-’90-të ato që sendërtojnë paradigmën, të pagëzueme në rrugë e siper si “Madchester”. Nji neologjizëm që me kohë nuk përkufizoi veç përkatësinë kundrejt nji territori (siç ishte për pjesën dërrmuese të grupeve), por edhe manifestin bipolar – të zymtë e euforik – të nji proletariati që gjeti te muzika nitroglicerinë për fundjava jetëshkurta.

Canadian label Breathing Room Records is back with their third digital release after a lengthy pandemic-related hiatus. A little over two years after their previous outing, they are happy to introduce Tropica, a duo from Newcastle, UK. Forest Floor is their debut EP and it includes three original tracks as well as a remix from Toronto-based producer and DJ, Ciel. This is the first remix in Breathing Room’s catalogue.

All three originals are slow and chuggy. Monstera Deliciosa, the opening track, is driven by warm chords and a wobbly synth line while a siren-esque pad weaves in and out. Birds of Paradise continues on a similar wavelength but dives a little further into acid territory with its lead and stays true to its name with different birds contributing to the overall ambience. Devil’s Ivy is a little darker in tone with it’s delayed pads, a didgeridoo and haunting scream-like samples permeating throughout. Ciel’s take on Monstera Deliciosa stays true to the original but introduces a juxtaposing, almost playful lead and tougher percussion, giving the track a faster, bouncier feel.

The moody sonics of ‘The Illusion’ complete the package. A mystifying melody and solid kick plod along, while May’s vocal chants ring out over a psychedelic melodica sequence.
