Synth 80's

Got a bit tipsey one night and recorded a few drunken lines of me singing in the bathroom.... and here is the result. And then about 4 weeks ago I went on a training course and saw the Drama Triangle for the first time and thought - thats exactly the point of this song!!

The lyrics got changed this week as the original second verse only really belonged on the Jeremy Kyle show. 

Quite pleased that I squeezed a Juno 106 and an Access Virus on the same track, along with Cubase native synths and a couple of commercially available sequences. Audio clips are from the original Evil Dead and Texas Chainsaw .. I have a great Evil Dead story - ask me some time....!!!!  

Victim Mentality (First Cut)

A faster-paced track of mine, originally written in 2016 and now remastered & overhauled solely because I really enjoyed making and playing it and wanted it freshened up.
It is a very synth driven, electro and orchestrally inspired piece, with higher-octane strings and drums to keep it just a little bit different or at least interesting on the ears!

Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as enjoyed making (and remaking!) it!

A Chance at Glory [2022]

...I had an idea to do this as a kind of tribute. I managed to pull Don Thomson and Mike Miller into my psychosis for what seemed like a reasonably easy cover version with a twist. But discovered again why I love this band - what seems simple is actually complex and many layered. What a challenge - what a lot of fun....Banzai!!

Instruments: A violin, Access Virus TI, Korg M50, CS-80 and Halion vst's. A Kodak disposable camera and an i-Phone. Drums are bass and snare samples used to augment Cubase native Groove Agent.

"Dreaming of Me" is the debut single by Depeche Mode recorded at Blackwing Studios, originally released on 20 February 1981 in the UK. The single was not commercially released in the United States.
Two mixes of the song have been released, one which fades out, and one which does not (cold end). The cold end version is on the original 7" and on the 1988 CD re-release of Speak and Spell in Europe, while the American Speak and Spell (and all singles compilations containing the song) has the fade-out version. The re-release of Speak and Spell in 2006 also features the cold end version, and was released in all regions.
The B-Side, "Ice Machine," is similarly available in a fading version, and one with a cold end. The 1988 and 2006 CD re-releases of Speak and Spell (where the song is a bonus track) use the cold end version. A live version of "Ice Machine" (recorded during the Some Great Reward tour) is available on the 12" version of the 1984 single "Blasphemous Rumours."
Due to a poor chart placement in the UK (#57), "Dreaming of Me" did not originally appear on Speak and Spell, but did show up in the CD re-release as a bonus track. However, in the United States, "Dreaming of Me" was on the original pressing of the album, replacing "I Sometimes Wish I Was Dead." On the 2006 re-release of Speak and Spell it was placed at the end of the album, with the original U.K. track list preceding it.
Exactly 30 years after "Dreaming of Me" was first released in the UK, a flash mob action tried to push the track back into the charts by downloading it online. The action failed except in Germany, where the track entered the singles charts for the very first time at number 45 giving the band its 47th chart entry.
