After exploring my thoughts on the pressures of motherhood and the misogyny placed upon women’s futures, I began to think about how hard it is for the people who decide they don’t want to achieve something society deems desirable. These feelings of uselessness and doubt led me to write Apple. When I was little, I always believed that if you swallowed an apple seed you would grow
into a tree. I thought if I could become a tree, maybe I would feel a little more useful. When recording Apple, we decided to record the band ‘live’. We thought this would carry over our views upon the ridiculous ideals of perfectionism and how you cannot place those upon something that is alive and constantly growing and changing.

Inspired by the poem 'Days' by Philip Larkin, Daze dwells in the feelings of when life becomes so unconsciously repetitive that you begin to question what these days are really for.

'Moon Outside' is a haunting wash of lo-fi uncertainty and nostalgia, drenched in soft vocals and jarring guitar to convey those restless nights where the full moon is your only company. 

My initial inspiration for this song was a mixture of a poem by Leonard Cohen called 'The Moon' and not being able to sleep very well at the time. I felt like the moon was always watching me and Cohen's words 'I am a poor lover of the moon. I see it all at once and that's it for me and the moon', kept sticking on my mind, making me think I needed to appreciate the moon more. So I decided to write a song about it in hopes it would help me sleep easier.

Somerset-born Rowe began her musical journey writing songs inspired by the old folk CDs in her grandad's car. After her release of debut EP Neptune in 2018 and recent experimental solo projects 'Daze' and 'Moon Outside', Rowe is now joined by good friends Tom Isaac on bass and Emelie Eckerud on drums. Taking inspiration from the likes of Radiohead, Cocteau Twins, Florist and Aldous Harding, they are now on the cuff of new releases. The trio is intent on sharing their tapestry of eerie vocals, biting melodies and dreamy instrumentals.
