Need to increase the levels, and sort the eq out and improve the sampling rate. Quality is just way too low.

For quite some time now, I've been meaning to record a cover of John Farnham's epic song "You're The Voice". In my opinion, it's one of Australia's unofficial national anthems!

During my holidays in January 2011, I started work on it. Unfortunately like most of my projects, I only found time to do little bits of it at a time, and it ended up taking me three months to complete. In April 2011 though, when after a few shots I got the final mix done, I was pretty pleased with the finished track. My plan was to stay pretty true to Farnsy's original version, but to make the overall sound more epic and huge. I kept the key and tempo the same, but added a whole lot of extra vocal harmonies, a massive timpani drum, distorted guitar, an extended guitar solo underneath the final choruses, among other bits and pieces. I just wanted to make everything "bigger".

In November 2010, I had the pleasure of watching Farnsy perform this song live at the COOPERS BREWERY with Sainty, Justy and Kaylia. It was his last song for the night, and we put our arms around each other's shoulders and belted it out at the top of our lungs with about ten thousand other people! What a moment!

These are tracks that I ran through the echo nest swinger script, and the results are entertaining to me.  I will/may update this later to include appropriate links to the project. In the interim, google it.

There may be some setting in the software that will boost the quality, as some have suffered in the conversion, but I haven't dug for it yet.
