Giustino – Audio Introduction

This opera written by George Friederich Handel, with a libretto by Pietro Pariati, first premiered here in Covent Garden in 1737.  And this is actually the first staging on the original site, and also, the first professional staging in the UK.  

I’m Alice Gilmour and in this audio introduction, I’ll give you the synopsis and a detailed description of how it all looks.  There will also be one audio described performance which is on Wednesday 15 October at 6.45pm, where you can hear this information again through the headsets ten minutes before the show. Then during the actual performance, I will also include some translations as it is sung in Italian, as well as tell you what’s happening visually.
