"The reason I selected this for the series was, for myself, it being personal time piece, the quality of the tracks and the mix being consistently good. Building through some great soulful house vocals and dubs into some deep cuts that haven't dated since it's release in 2002. Having quite a few of these on vinyl picked up around the time, including Mindflight's "Release", Derrick White's "Soul 2 Let Go" and Kerri Chandler's "Atmospheric Beats" the mix by silky deep house man Miguel Migs was never far from the earlobes at the time. And being released on the ever consistently good Naked Music label, its great from start to finish. A true reflection of the kinds of tracks I played out in sets when I started out DJing. Enjoy!!" "Recorded in May 2019 at the FAC 51 The Haçienda party, held at the stunning Albert Hall in Manchester. I've played a number of Haçienda events in recent years, but this was undoubtedly the best environment, with the venue full by the time I went on at 10pm. I really enjoy this type of scenario where I can build things up from scratch, starting off around 100bpm and gradually increasing the tempo so the next DJ, in this case Chez Damier, is teed up to transition into the House vibe more associated with The Haçienda. This gave me the opportunity to illustrate some of the other tracks that were played and loved at the club down the years. "
