Happy 20th birthday to the Djoon! Wishing you all the best for 20+ years ahead. Thanks for helping me discover soulful house the way I have over the last year. My set for the the ultimate DJ competition in collaboration with Traxsource was made with lots of love and composed of sounds that make me feel blessed and blissed to be alive. Hope you all enjoy.

ROY | Djoon x Traxsource DJ Competition

ROY picked up his first American Audio Encore CD mixer at the age of 10 and began what would be a decade-plus audiophile pursuit spanning genres and geographies. Having started mixing pop, hip-hop and commercial music as a teenager, ROY jumped into genres of electronic music having been exposed to London’s underground house & techno scene and eventually New York City’s. 

With a deep appreciation for curated and quality sound, ROY launched OMA in 2021. A music curation label inviting underground artists globally to record mixes under the OMA label (@omakase-lp) with a debut in Paris. Across the pond, New York’s underground music scene lacked very little, except intimacy and purpose which gave birth to Connaissance Collective. A collective organizing pop-up events across NYC bringing together calibre sounds spinned by ROY & friends with a mission to help raise funds for local New York non-profits. 

ROY currently resides in New York City mixing on the regular in the city and across the pond in Paris at Djoon with Nuit Noire friends, and in Beirut. ROY dabbles in genres of soulful, jazz, afro-jazz, latin house and everything in between.
