'Born in France, established in Switzerland, and now, via a detour in Montreal, Maxime Laffon lands on Culprit with his debut for the Los Angeles label. On the “Escapade” EP the classic meets contemporary, as Laffon taps into the legacy of legendary dance music he grew up with and the recent experience as the resident for the famed D Club in Lausanne, where he affiliated with none other than Luciano and the Vagabundos crew.
 
“Escapade” and “Everybody” are two slabs of crackling Electronic House, percolating with dancefloor energy and bouncy mischief.  “Escapade” is the lighter, more melodic of the pair, while “Everybody” sports the chunky groove and the catchy vocal hook.

The remix arrives courtesy Tiefschwarz – long friends of the label who are finally lassoed into a contribution. And what a contribution it is! With Ali Schwarz at the helm, this rework adds the gorgeous late night Deep Techno sheen to “Everybody.”'

'District 47 is a new label and event brand that champions underground house and deep techno.

The label's first release is a debut from RawW who bursts onto the scene with a two track EP that blends hypnotic percussion rhythms with immersive synth lines. Building in both suspense and intensity, RawW’s debut release shows an instant pedigree.

His style is reminiscent of other artists such as Reset Robot, Tiefschwarz and Steve Bug.

“The Beginning” opens the release with brooding atmospherics that are soon accompanied by the stabbing lead synth. Its methodical groove builds a steady momentum as it builds towards the tantalising breakdown that ends with kick drum plunging the track back into an enthralling darkness.

“If You Want” starts with an ominous bassline and thrashing hi-hat that forms a foundation for dubby pads and the muffled tones of a haunting vocal sample, which is soon joined by a full vocal section that’s reminiscent of Depeche Mode’s iconic style.

Both tracks are dance floor focused cuts with an infectious energy and sublet melodic elements, which combine to deliver an immersive experience that’s underpinned by a thumping kick drum.'

Putting the YOU into unity: Re.You’s Younion returns for the first excursion of 2022 with longstanding friends Eins Tiefer. 
Mainstays on the collective stable since its inaugural 001 VA way back in 2016, the duo have played a role and had a presence on almost every Younion release so far. ‘Sunscreen’, however, is by far their biggest dispatch for the label to date. 
Three fantastical originals and one remix from the label founder, each cut takes us far away from reality, capturing our emotions and imaginations with every startling dynamic. ‘Sunscreen’ takes the lead with cosmic broken beats, sweeping spacey textures and a cult spoken word vocal that’s loaded with so many lines of wisdom it’s almost overwhelming (especially if you’re old enough to remember it the first time around) It’s backed up by a beautiful remix from Re.You himself. Rolling, organic and widescreen – it sets the scene for the two crucial club instrumentals that follow.
‘Care’ is a walloping slab of dancefloor drama that’s strung out with brilliant tension but ballasted by powerful percussive stomp. An epic Q followed by a commanding A; it’s the type of tune you roll your sleeves up to play. And you best keep them rolled up for the finale, too. 
The last piece in this provocative and emotionally rich puzzle, ‘Calculating’ is Eins Tiefer at their darkest and most pensive. A timeless moment of prowling techno, unhurried and full of suspense, there’s a great sense of mystery running throughout… And never giving itself away. 
What a way to start a new year. Eins Tiefer and Re.You have delivered something special. But remember; none of this works without YOU.

After kicking off the new year with an EP by the duo „Aliot & Bunbeck“, the second EP comes from a Russian DJ & Producer „Mr Morek“.
Already having released on „Sincopat“ & „Moscoman’s“ „Disco Halal“, he’s no stranger to the electronic music scene anymore and we are happy to welcome him with his debut on SOULFOOLED.

The EP is opened with a track called „Immunity“. A word that, these days finds a lot of attention in different political sections - so also the track breaks through any walls and barriers of genres and stereotypes.
On the second track „you can hear a lot of different fractions of electro house and melodic techno.“, claims Morek. „For me, this is something new and therefore I decided to call it „Ampere House“.
To finish off the EP, Mr Morek has chosen to write something more mysterious & magical. „Arcanum“ sticks to it, though not losing any from of energy, that has been built up through out the entire EP.

Royston Summers is an electronic artist bringing the much loved sounds of 80’s synthesiser driven Electronica and Synthwave, raw 90’s House and the post millennia Indie Dance, Nu Disco and French House phenomena into the future.

Summers has long been a key figure in electronic music, working behind the scenes with the likes of Kerri Chandler, Roger Sanchez, Jonas Blue and Sam Divine amongst many others, as well as producing songs for many different vocalists over the years and many of his productions featuring heavily on esteemed platforms such as BBC Radio 1. The past decade’s worth of experience with the aforementioned laid the foundations for this project, which stands as the culmination of the deep understanding and knowledge of music which he’s accrued over this time.

As well as this hands on experience Royston’s material takes influence from many of the pioneering artists and engineers who paved the way for musical innovation for so many such as Pink Floyd, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Alan Parsons, Jimi Hendrix, Daft Punk, Dave Pensado and the infamous Depeche Mode who rose to stardom from the same town Royston is based, Basildon in Essex. 

2021 will see Summers introduce his sound to the world, showcasing his extensive amalgamation of sounds and styles which twist and turn yet keep a coherent thread as distinctively his. Also playing a fundamental part in the project is vocalist Troy Denari, most notably known for his work with Kerri Chandler he brings his soulful vocals into the mix. A live show is already in the making to weave this together even more and bring the world this futuristic twist on classic electronic music.
