a closing (2016) for voices and tape

I am interested by how the live and recorded voice combine, creating mirrors of each other or abstractions.

This score is made up of  a series of tasks for the live voices which essentially form a structured improvisation. They engage with their surroundings, harmonising making a weave of live and recorded voices. 

The tape part is made from audio samples of members of the ensemble, creating a static, abstracted counterpart to the live voices.

I make performance that centres on music and the voice, working in the fields of music, theatre and dance. Founder/director of Irish contemporary vocal ensemble Tonnta. Explorer of the space between disciplines.
