''I am usually known for my accelerated, groovy take on techno so for this mix I was inspired by the change of season here in Detroit. I recently moved to the city and had to get used to the harsh winter and now that Spring is among us, I wanted to reflect that change in this mix by starting out airy and dreamy and taking the listener to a bunch of twists & turns to ultimately create a fun mix because the sun’s out! I also haven’t really played any electro/breaks into any of my mixes so it was nice to play something that I don’t usually play. It’s a nice surprise to people that have followed me along this artistic journey.''

For the 8th episode of Aquatic Gardens we welcome https://soundcloud.com/djhannahdj who will play a 1h Vinyl Only mix, combining primitive techno & trance sounds, a perfect set to start the rave season.

Though natively from Stockholm, HANNAH is one of the latest DJ prospects to emerge from Amsterdam’s fertile underground scene. Cutting her teeth by organizing and playing illegal parties in ACTA, she’s now starting to take her first steps in the city’s club circuit. An avid raver for most of her life, her interest in DJing was first piqued when she made the move to Amsterdam and was introduced to the vinyl medium. Preferring genre fluidity over rigidity, she maintains an “anything goes” philosophy that spans techno, acid, early 2000’s tribal elements and trance, both new and old, as long as it fits the set. 

She is also co-founder & resident of Stereolube, an Amsterdam based collective full of talented DJs, focused on those many elements that make a good party, combining them to create an environment of chaos and playfulness. 

Let the rave season begin...!

Anami is in our viewfinder for a longer time, her mixes have sort of tripped-out aura that’s hard to resist, everything has this odd almost mystic vibe. This mix is no exception - tracks with rhythmic references from North Africa and the Middle East, accompanied with slow trance pulses, continues more to punchier rolling psy-breakbeat, perhaps slow rave or jungle, enigmatic mood included.
