Melbourne’s one and only Emelyne picks up the next Mod Hyp mix series for a two hour excursion of tracks you have and definitely have not heard before - Emelyne is a true selector, her musical palette is vast, unassuming and inspiring. This mix captures her love of dub, dub techno and that original UK dubstep sound we all give the nod to this side of the globe* Emelyne has appeared on Modern Hypnosis line ups since day one and her committed involvement in Melbourne’s music community is widely well received. This is her second offical recorded mix for us but certainly will not be the last!

@youngneska is a DJ and producer from the mythological land of the Basque Country. Recently relocated to Amsterdam, she started her electronic music path in Barcelona two years ago, quickly turning into one of the most promising upcoming DJs in the scene, playing at Sónar and Primavera Sound festival alongside having a residency in Human Club. She also curates Fauna & Flora, a multidisciplinary event that mixes electronic music with digital art, and hosts her own radio show Neskafe on Dublab radio. NYC local legend and anno (@ann0000) label boss Hank Jackson (@hjacksonnn) joins the mix series for one hundred & thirty, with a groove-driven mix sprinkled with tech house gems & bassy rollers. Hank has an incredible array of styles under his belt, with a repertoire of mixes online which showcase his chameleon-like taste.

No matter what the genre or style, he manages to put forward an enchanting musical journey, this one being no exception and also the perfect fit for the Animalia series.

Constructions 013 brings forth a pivotal figure to the growth and longevity of Sydney’s deep-rooted and ever-flourishing sound system culture. 

Over the years, local tall guy Alec Sander, aka Alex McGuigan has gone from strength to strength in Australia’s bass scene as both an artist with impeccable taste and as a promoter curating some of Sydney’s most iconic underground parties.  

Cutting his teeth in the golden-era of UK dubstep with his bass-focused alias dubbed Wompa, Alex formed the crew DUNJ with friends in 2012 which has gone on to become an integral part of the Sydney underground music scene - hosting a plethora of world-class artists in dimly lit, mostly BYO environments. 

A love for all things weird and wonderful led Alec Sander to be created - a forward-thinking vessel for broken-beat, left-field techno and various other sonic explorations - always with a focus on the deep, low-end frequencies that are synonymous with the Wompa alias.
