Dish Out is a moody foodie song in the key of A minor with a slow beat. I wanted to express how I feel about cooking for picky people, which is why the song is a mix of moody, chill, and silly. It might not be your cup of tea, which is fine because making tea wasn’t part of my sound collection process, haha. Constructive and friendly feedback welcomed. This is my first song produced in Ableton.

Dish Out

You can use this song as a 5 minute tea timer for brewing your chamomile tea. I wanted to make a relaxing song you could rock back and forth to, whether in a rocker, with a child in arms, or gently dancing away your daily stresses. It's in G major and 6/8 time, with a little bit of quiet noises along with the muted melodies. Wishing you peace.

Chamomile Brew

I made the first 18 bars of this to relieve my stress when my loved one was sick with COVID-19. (They're better now.) I decided to finish it to give a sense of completion to the chaos I felt then, rather than because it is a great song. I'm curious if it is uncomfortable or playful sounding to an objective listener, or some other adjective.

Potato Mash

Starting off with the disclaimer that no sounds are from the toilet, I used audio samples that I collected in my bathroom to make the beat and the droning pitched instrument from my ancient bathroom fan. If you listen, you'll probably be able to hear sounds from the soap pump, detangler spray, toothbrush bristles, sink drain, and a fun whirl edited from the fan turning off. The kick and snare are from turning the light switch on and off. The name is because this is dedicated to the instructor and classmates that made this class fun. I hope you enjoy the silliness.

Now that I have been in mixing class, I worked on mixing this song from almost a year ago for my final. I'm enjoying the learning process.

Dish Out Reheated

The poem used in the lyrics is called An Upbraiding by
Thomas Hardy, and its context is that he felt guilt toward his estranged wife after he died, and this showed up in his writings. So I imagined her ghost scorning him in a nightmare, and tried to record the vocal more dramatically than perfectly. 
I acknowledge it doesn’t really match the original name (I originally was more specific in
my poem search but ended up focused on form), but I hope the Wulfpack - Guapkins
R.Story Poetry Remix still lands well on the listener’s ears. Or not, because it is a bit creepy
