Bienvenue was established in 2019 by the hugely talented DJ and producer
Gene Tellem, as an independent record label.  Based in Montreal, the label pays homage to the city’s nightlife as well as The Motor City. Gene Tellem has had some fine releases on labels that include Quebec’s La Rama Records, as well as two flawless efforts on London label Wolf Music.

Secret Witness is the vibrant union of producers Gabriel Rei and Gene Tellem, singer- songwriter Laroie, and drummer Pascal Deaudelin. Montreal-bred, this gathering of total talent transmits the city’s underground sound through storytelling and immersive vibes, the tales are told over mesmerising beats which form the central element of their works. Set to release in the fall 0f 2021, this group came together in the winter of 2020 with a desire to explore different forms of narrative through dance music.  All four members were fascinated by the feeling of intrigue and mood in music enhanced by lyrical play, and worked to define a sound that echoes as much movement as reflection.

Seasoned producers Gabriel Rei and Gene Tellem combine their melodic talents to meticulously draw up the blueprint of this project. Their vision for Secret Witness translates into mid-tempo motions, clever textures and deep and moody tones. Vocalist and lyricist Laroie, elevates proceedings with RnB, and Soul influences, coupled with her exquisite tones channelling each word.  With her rich, warm and airy timbre, Laroie showcases her ability to connect with an the audience and keep them engaged.  The quartet is completed by drummer and percussionist Pascal Daudelin, his methodical technique and versatility adds to the infectiousness of the rhythm, folding into an elegant symbiosis of synthesized sounds and live instrumentation.

This release is a collection of night time tunes designed to capture the driving and soulful essence of deep house, with lyrical play to help imaginations run wild. Recorded between Saint-Sauveur and Montreal, this six-track mini-album is sophisticated, its playful and romantic.

Here comes another genre-bending 12" knockout on our 'Cheesy Lover' sublabel: @donniemoustaki delivers a melange of jazz-infused disco garnished with hip hop and a pinch of house on top. A combination of sampling and synths with the tender voice of Imaginary Friend on the A-side and a wired keys inferno with XCVIII on the B-side. Remixes from Bremen based Warpath & Ranko and Scissorwork from Bristol on top. Rumor has it weed and the spheres of the universe were also involved in making this EP.
