For this year's #pianoday2021 I joined forces with Gianluca Piacenza (@gianlucapiacenza ) to bring to life "Liquid Thoughts". The concept of this track takes inspiration from the stream of consciousness that flows at night in form of dreams. The multiple piano layers that play off each other keep flowing throughout the track, seeming like independent ideas at first, but end up flourishing into an intimate theme as the composition progresses. Crafted with lots of heart from Italy 🖤

Most people in the world are willing to perceive only the superficial levels of reality. They are afraid of awakening to the truth, focused on staying on the edge of what they just know rather than what they are born of. Getting stuck in a state of fear and ego. Avoiding their intuitions. The shift lies in a spiritual turn, the only way to connect to your inner self and experience a truly authentic life. This time with more ambient and electronic vibes taking the lead of the next musical journey, as we welcome into our WOOD the Italian producer known with the name of "RTIK" with a new brand episode called "Blue Awakening".

The Ep starts with "Forever, However Long Forever Is", a long intro track characterized by piano and string progressions and profound ambient textures that immediately narrate a deep story in constant evolution. The awareness that the world is moving in order to change. Consecutively as the second track, we have "Blue Awakening", another beautiful musical moment mostly dedicated to our most happy memories with a tiny rope of nostalgia. And to close off the Ep, another gem that suddenly leads the listener in a magical world, its name is "Nova". The result is a fantastic fresh episode defined by strong grooves and surrounded by hypnotic and authentic melodies.

I'm so proud to present my new 6-track EP titled “Decoy World” which just released on May 15th.

A defining stepping stone for my sound, this 6-track EP blends minimal/downtempo electronic, neo-classical, ambient, and even some melodic techno vibes. Some songs were crafted over one long year in which I pushed my sound forward and collaborated with a variety of creatives, from the Italian neo-classical pioneer Luca Longobardi, to the talented singer/songwriter Hannah Sumner and multi-medium artist Trees Are Angels. Everything on the EP was done independently, from the concept, to the songwriting, production and even the mixing and mastering.

The process of evolution and transformation is one of the most astounding things we can witness from an artist. On his latest track titled 'Dissolve', RTIK provides a stellar prelude of the forthcoming chapter in his esteemed musical journey.

'Dissolve' incorporates elements synonymous with Melodic Techno, paired with enchanting Ambient soundscapes and memorable melodies that are found all throughout his catalog. It's safe to say that this is a club-friendly listening experience which also has the potential to engage with the imagination of the casual listener.

This track comes as a strong follow-up to his biggest body of work to date, a six-track EP titled "Decoy World", which released earlier this year and marked a defining stepping stone for RTIK’s vision, pushing his sound forward while blending downtempo electronic, ambient, and melodic techno vibes.

The aftermath is a track more geared towards the club, a path still unexplored by the Italian producer, and the perfect companion to kick off the darker and colder months of the year.
