"Bass in your face, DJ Wayang in the mix, prepare to lose your damn mind!" is proclaimed less than three minutes into DJ Wayang's first episode of his RTR2 residency Remember When. The Boorloo/Perth DJ and producer fulfills this straightforward edict with a deft and emotive touch over two hours, splicing liminal pockets of dreamy ambience with sub-bass loaded breakbeats from beyond.

Optimo is JG Wilkes & JD Twitch; record label, and longstanding Glaswegian party. You can expect a lot from their new monthly slot, sure to dig up some obscurities from post-punk, new wave, EBM, house and techno. Bags of unreleased stuff, too.

Erasers return with their second episode of Haze and Clouds.  Early Days shines a light on the music they admired during their formative years as a band from 2009 to 2014.  Focusing largely on artists from this continent, with some international gems that inspired their early sound.

Ephacy takes us on a journey through some of her deep beloved favourites ~ old and new ~ on RTR2 for Personal Space. Effortlessly strung together as a narrative of emotive sounds, this mix is a deep reflection of music she has a close connection with, enjoyed in quiet time alone and in the company of her close friends.

DJ Wayang invites local DJ SANIO onto RTR2 for episode two of Remember When, splitting the show into two heart pumping halves. Drawing on twisted percussion driven grooves, maximal bass lines and alien synth parts twisted with otherworldly sound effects, the duo fold together head down club hedonism and euphoria-laced dance modernism across two hours.

We're none too fond of terms like 'selector' here at the figurative 12th Isle HQ. We think it was a shrewd marketing ploy concocted by natural wine bar owners - and possibly the freemasons - who repackaged the spergy single-mindedness of record nerds into something that sounded much more socially agile and cool in order to distract punters from the exorbitant price of nibbles. Thankfully, the time of white label soundtracked £40 sashimi seems to be behind us, and DJing can go back to being obsessives playing odd music made by even odder folk without much in the way of pretence. Someone who encapsulates that kind of energy has very kindly put together a nearly 4 hour long sprawl and has stated that under no circumstances should this mix be enjoyed alongside thinly sliced bits of raw beef and wine with bits in it or there will be hell to pay. Virtual Utopia's 16th sonic simulation has been programmed by Cardiff's own sonic scientist Tywi (@tywi) - one of the founding members of record label and party series Haŵs (@hawsmusic). This update is a 2-hour, perfectly paced journey exploring natures charming perfection. Drifting through mellow downtempo intwined with a infectious mycelial groove, and glossy day-dreamers layered with sheets of floating iridescence. Plants dancing in a rythmic symbiosis to the warming basslines and low-slung drum breaks. A soundtrack to orange suns, soft touches and calming energies. Sit and be here... there is plenty of room to breathe.
