Born at the Sunrise HUB, baptised at Caleidoscop Festival, still growing. Meet Capra Vecinului: an experimental live analogue free flowing project started and built beat by beat by Paul Agripa, Emi and Kozo. 

Paul Agripa is a vinyl distributor, DJ and  live performer, most often associated with the band Sahau. His favourite instrument is the keyboard. 
Respected label owner Emi is in charge of Contur record label and he’s one of those DJs with an unique underground sound besides being a super versatile producer.
Serban Goanță aka Kozo is a Bucharest DJ and producer, owner of the Zimbru label. He co-runs https://Intuit.fm with Paul Agripa and Dan Andrei, while also being a member of Sahau.

The three are curious producers who explore the thin boundaries between jazz, electronic music and technology. The group uses an ever-changing setup of synths, drum machines and modular synthesisers, while also adding in a surprise guest or two whenever needed. 

We seized the opportunity of publishing a cut from their live performance at Caleidoscop, an obscure music festival that takes places somewhere hidden behind the hills of Vâlcea County, Romania.

This recording is an extract from the Twilight set of Dubtil at Club Guesthouse. The party is an invite only event series at the club. Dubtil closed the night which saw guests such as Cezar, Edward, Vlada, SIT, among others, this is the first 2hrs extract of a 6hrs set at my dear home club. 

Having been there for this night and this closing set, I chose to put it out on the Toi Toi Mix Series not only because Dubtil has become part of our agency roster, in fact, it is because of things like this he is but also because this represents the milestone of my exploration in Romania. 

Charged with a reputation I always disliked, of being ‘flat and boring’ some Romanian artists have been unfairly judged and Dubtil is the primary example of that, he showed me here that this country has a pool of talents which are yet to be uncovered and oh boy, how enlightening to see them surface. Following on from the legacy that made him grow as an artist he shows here true djing by what djing should stand for. An extremely well structure and diverse peak time set which broke me in a 1000 pieces in positive surprise when being on his dance floor, elegantly 'ballsy'.  

This comes to reassure that my belief in the talents in this country is real, that for these past 10 months I have been here I continue to be shocked when these boys become a surprise box of amazing music research, killer mixing and structure, leading of course, to the highest standard of Djing, anything but flat or boring but rather enlightening and energising, full of personality and character, just what I want to see on dance floors​ hence why I stand proudly by it. ​



Thank you Dubtil for showing me this and for reassuring my faith in this country which I chose as my home.

There are just few DJs out there that can match Cap at rhythmic excellence and progressive narrative. His podcast for Guesthouse palpitates with enthralling beats surging through the core and raising listener’s heart rates.

Cap’s trademark is a keen sense of sonic dynamism and musical virtuosity, spanning mostly between techno and deep groovy house, mining classic records and obscure gems to create party-perfect floor burners. 

Throughout the 90 minutes, Cap’s continuous flow captures the motion of a moving vehicle driven by a mature sound pilot.
