The Aberdeen based artist is influenced by 1970s singer-songwriters such as Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen and John Cale, while also drawing inspiration from 1960s rock including The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Byrds. Released on the 16th August, Ruari McGrath's debut album "If I Knew Your Name" was recorded primarily in East Lake studio, Perth. A stripped back acoustic record, "If I Knew Your Name" is a compelling listen, full of lush melodic textures and abstract imagery.
