Zauberstab V.A. Volume 1 is a compilation of electronic bedroom music made by contemporary artists that belong to similar sonic spheres. 
The A side feels like a holiday in an exotic landscape; the kind of place you don't want to leave. 
The B side then goes in a slightly deeper meditative direction, but not too far, since the sparking disco-infused psych exploration of ’Space Surfari’ will hold you back from falling into the void of the unconscious. What comes next is the sound that would welcome a moonlit night sky. 
The C side slinks into a minimal synth oriented exploration, ending with the intergalactic hopeful drift of ‘Har’.
The last side will provide a comfortable seat on this hypnotic journey. ‘Été 2017’ is an ode to the late summer nights, a mind-driving loop carried by gentle percussive sounds, filled with some bass deepness. The next tracks are the right balance between a hug and a breeze of fresh air for your mind and soul.
At this point you might find yourself wondering if it’s a good idea to open your eyes or just keep them closed for a bit longer and thoroughly enjoy all of the details of this story. But, why not? 
This one is, after all, a record to build beautiful memories with.

Collins Dictionary Example sentence: „Other ocular signs include involuntary rhythmic movement of the eyeball.“ Someone in the edi- torial department wasn‘t paying attention and involuntarily spoke a deeply buried truth: The movement from the eye to rhythm and from there to sound is sometimes a small, puny one.

Now Infuso Giallo provides the proof at the same time and imple- ments his live show for last year‘s debut album „Ocular Soda“ as
an audio-visual show, as intertwined senses. Visible sound, audible images. Such ideas only last when they are put to the test and scru- tinised by several experts.

The duo Globus, which consists of 2/5 of the post-hardcore band PTTRNS, examines the synth hook of the second part of the double- opener „Every Waking Hour Pt.2“ by playing it, varying it, letting it sway.

In contrast, Anatolian Weapons from Athens can‘t help but immerse the ambient, Soft Machine-production-like first minutes of „Every Waking Hour Pt.1“ in a sinister black light. Staggering into a basement
club filled with nocturnal shadow people and indulge in carousing. Cautiously at first, then more and more determinedly.

From Hamburg and Berlin, the „Mole Gaze“ gets a special treatment. The trio Love-Songs drags the number off to Hamburg harbour, packs it onto a steamer, deep into the bow and lets it operate the sonar there. Conrad Schnitzler would have been delighted.

Infuso Giallo, meanwhile, realises that there is nothing more boring than standing still, so he revamps „Hello World“ and gives it a rear spoiler that keeps this number in lane even at club speed.

Speaking of „keeping in lane“: Niklas Wandt, the magician, doesn‘t even try such tricks. He simply throws an acid bolt on the closer „Ocular Soda“ and waits to see what happens. Alongside breakbeats from nowhere, Albert Hoffmann himself appears on a bicycle.

„Ocular Soda Remixes“ is the first tape on the Kame House label, so there‘s only one thing to do: open your eyes and listen!

Disciple of the god Apollo, Terpsichore was the Muse of the dance, and it was known to be the most enigmatic of the nine Greek muses.

She was the mother of the sirens, and she would lure sailors to shipwreck on their island with their music and hypnotic, beautiful singing.

Terpsichore has been invoked as a metaphor for rhythm and ordered movement in the universe.

The planets orbit the sun and the sun, with other stars, orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy. The planets go through the Milankovitch cycles in which their orbits around the sun adjust in very regular, periodic, or rhythmic, ways.

Terpsichore’s influence goes beyond just the humane, as It can also be seen in the observable universe.

She is now the Muse not just of human dance but also the cosmic dance in which the whole universe participates.

We're incredibly pleased to welcome the Geneva-based duo Bound by Endogamy. They consist of Kleio Kleio Thomaïdes, who is a multidisciplinary artist and part of the lauded Savage Grounds band as the vocalist together with Florin Büchel and Lux Rec label head Daniel Cosmo. Shlomo Balexert comes from the Swiss punk and squat scene and his artistic work addresses social and environmental themes. The duo have been touring most of Europe and boasts releases on Lux Rec and their most recent EP on Dead Channel Records which blew us away when we first heard it. We can't wait to her their upcoming album on the French label CAF? in 2023. Their 80-minute long recording showcases their distinctive brand of raw post-punk, electro and post-industrial style. Lock in!

Doris als Musikerin. 
Dass Doris tödlich ist, ist ihr selbst gar nicht so klar. Denn sie liebt eigentlich alle Menschen. Sie war sozusagen auf einem humanistischen Gymnasium, wo sie natürlich auch Musikunterricht hatte. Musik mag sie gerne, wie alles. Ob sie jetzt gar kein Instrument oder alle beherrscht, ist egal; sie findet es toll, wenn Menschen Musik machen. Doris versteht sich nicht direkt als Musikerin; das würde sie als eine Einschränkung für sich sehen. Zum Glück gibt es so viele die das Musikmachen für sie erledigen. Trotzdem ist sie keine Dirigentin. Doris singt ganz gerne, ihre Lieblingsinstrumente sind Sirenen.

 

Doris as a musician. 
That Doris is deadly, is also for herself not so clear. She actually loves all people. She was, so to say, on a humanistic high school where she, of course, also had music lessons. She likes music, as she likes everything. It does not matter at all if she does not master any instrument or all; she enjoys when people make music. Doris does not see herself as a musician; she would see that as a restriction. Luckily, there are so many who do the music making for her. Nevertheless, she is not a conductor. Doris loves to sing, her favorite instruments are sirens.

These are challenging times in the middle east. As the situation in Gaza gets worst daily, we are committed to doing what we can to end this conflict, and provide aid to the residents of Gaza, as well as all Palestinians in the west bank.

All proceeds from Confused Machines' digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il, which continues its medical work and humanitarian aid in the West Bank despite the difficult circumstances.

Since October 2023, PHRI has doubled its activity in the West Bank and is sending two weekly mobile clinic visits to help communities that are cut off from medical treatment due to the severe wave of settler and military violence, movement restrictions, and the financial crisis in the West Bank.

PHRI is currently unable to operate in Gaza due to restrictions by the Israeli authorities, and have been barred from delivering aid to the strip. PHRI is constantly working to resume these activities and will do so as soon as the circumstances allow.

We urge for an immediate ceasefire, the return of all hostages, and a peaceful future for all inhabitants of this troubled land.

J A surfaces on RUBBER with six disorienting wave tracks, reigniting the catalogue after a short hiatus. Crafted by Andrea Noce (Eva Geist, As Longitude) and Jonida Prifti (Acchiappashpirt, Opa Opa), these productions find elegance in their noir aesthetic and sketch-like composition, breathing filmic atmospheres of its creative process and the hedonist self alike. 

Straying away from the societal drift for efficiency and make belief, this record was produced over a timespan of five years, while shifting between Berlin and Rome. Dancing and loafing, mirrors were splintered and scattered shards reflected a new light. Here, Noce her serpentine sense of melody guides uncharted signatures of reverber­ating syncopated drums, while soundscapes move in and out as apparitions fogging the mind. The poetic spoken-singing of Prifti  subdues the tracks, through a linguistic form where Albanian and Italian intertwine, channeling her scientific field into art. Cleverly processed, the vocals take on many shapes, blurring lines between instrumen­tation and recognition, creating meaning where language ends.

Vampires are paradoxical creatures. Demons with human bodies. But they are afraid of death. Being immortal, they are afraid of her worse than any person. They are dead, but forced to look for ways to survive. They live in two worlds, but do not belong to any of them, there are a lot of such creatures in the night as we know it. Beware of them, you never know when they will deliver their ruthless, vile blow.
For the first release of the year eclectic label Yalançı  choose a single from mysterious producer R.Bakaite and offers it with this wonderful remix from the German wizard of sound Detlef Weinrich AKA Tolouse Low Trax. The drums and shape-shifting bass are firmly fixed to the dancefloor as they build the foundations for a low-paced, monster that transfixes and enthralls. “I’m vampire , i like dark rooms” the voice reminds us, as the mix heads straight for the jugular with percussion lines and punctuating piano that strip the original’s flesh from the bones and rebuild it as a modern club vampire anthem, and trust me it’s many out of them there in the modern dark rooms.
