Csound & AcToolbox Composition

With the composition Describe Untruths I set out to investigate the structures that can arise from extreme sound files time stretch.

The composition title it's an anagram of the two words “hidden structures” in “descride untruths” but the two last letters of the first word are mirrored.

Using phase vocoding and granular synthesis techniques I explored the structures that spontaneously generate processing sound material, in the search of a first self-generated structure.

This process can bring out figures and events that would otherwise be non- significant: individual notes morph into long glissandos, eternal field recording sessions in strange noises of a few seconds, they breathe in storm, instrumental performances of hours transformed into textures of minutes.

Lufter.1a sets an environment in order to explore interactions between electronically processed traditional instruments and synthetized material. 

The exploration is carried on with the aid of algorithmic composition and with extensive use of interpolating and generative algorithms. 

The flute is a distant and lost memory, forgotten between sliding textures. I do remember Tiziano Teodori being the flute player.

Int_Ratio investigate the emergence of relationship between synthesised textures and theirs possible transformations. Few initial sound sources are processed through a transformation matrix inspired from G.M.Koening composition “Terminus”.
