Emerging mysteriously over the horizon, a new satellite surfaces with Freedo Mosho's sultry Edit of Paul (AR) & Anunnakis' collaborative single, Ancient Moon. Originally released on Selador as a part of The Selador Showcase - The Seventeenth Instalment, the hypnotic dancefloor roller sheds over to a dusky shade under the sonic guidance of the Argentine maestro.

Riding slick, Freedo Mosho's take on Ancient Moon builds patiently in the shadows as it rolls over the back of a delectable percussive line and an irresistible stabbed bassline. Moving with aplomb, FM takes us deep inside a heady and hazy picture where the midnight fog rises, providing a dense and lush backdrop before revealing a time-stopping breakdown where the ancient secrets blossom in a tantalizing manner as they come together for a rousing second act, drifting into the new night with each passing beat.

A most luxurious take on Paul (AR) & Anunnakis - Ancient Moon, Freedo Mosho's reinterpretation deconstructs the spellbinding original, transforming it into a smoldering, slow- burner under the binding rays of twilight as he delivers another essential outing.

Continuing what has been a strong first year, Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP imprint welcomes Yonsh to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Russia, Vladimir Demchenko aka Yonsh has been a fixture of the progressive house community for the better part of three years. On the strength of early tracks such as ‘Arange’ and ‘Sheld’, Yonsh was tipped as a newcomer to watch. Fast forward a short two years and the Moscow resident now lays claim to an impressive resume with releases via Mango Alley, Sound Avenue and The Soundgarden, while genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Emi Galvan, Ruben Karapetyan, Nicolas Rada and Nick Warren have chimed in with support along the way. Now, continuing on an upwards trajectory as 2023 winds to a close, Yonsh adds RKP to his resume with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Rounding’. 

The title selection 'Rounding’ finds Yonsh operating at his creative peak with a production rich in character and groove. Creating a confident energy from the outset, its rhythmic drive is anchored by chunky basslines, metallic fragments and growling synths, tastefully building to a wild-eyed intensity of glowing pads and flashing percussive arrangements. With a breakdown that exudes spirit, Yonsh pulls from his expansive repertoire, infusing shimmering synths with orbiting effects for the perfect prelude to a powerful drop and chunky grooved-out finale. 

The release concludes with ‘Connect’ which further cements the EP's dancefloor minded ethos. Here, Yonsh's meticulous design and dreamlike elegance conjures up utopian visions, as cutting edge sonics and rolling rhythmic structures layer a bed of pulsating beats and swaying percussion. Ethereal melodies highlight the main break, bringing with them emotion, mystery and intrigue, further revealing the Russian's creative attitude, before a finale of devilish stabs and timely overlays provide a textural rain of melodic colour to round out the EP in style.

Finishing 2023 on another stratospheric high, GMJ & Matter return to their ever-rising imprint with a twin-track EP of rare quality as they end the year with “Stellaris / Idtritah”. 

Over a year that saw a collection of releases cement their reputation in the rarefied atmosphere of the Progressive House movement’s leading lights, GMJ & Matter have seen music featured on Cid Inc.’s Replug, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Alex O’Rion’s newly minted Solis Records throughout 2023. Add to that a set of performances across their native Australia, Europe, and culminating in a spell-binding sold-out label showcase at Amsterdam’s Akhnaton as ADE hit the city for the dance industry’s annual shindig, and it’s not difficult to understand why the Melbourne-based duo are such hot properties. 

As label bosses, the duo have overseen the meteoric rise of their Meanwhile imprint since its debut in early 2020. A regular fixture in the Beatport Progressive House Top 10 charts, Meanwhile has been the purveyor of outstanding underground dance music with a roster of artists including Jamie Stevens, Alex O’Rion and Simos Tagias. Now returning to their label with another pair of original offerings, “Stellaris” is a gorgeous free-flowing offering that immediately hits its stride with powerful beat, percussive intrigue and hallmark hi-hat urgency. Full of depth and delight, a sub-bassline hypnotises before an immaculately cadenced synth motif is woven into the rhythmic foundation with the precision of a master seamstress. A flowing and atmospheric new melody adds depth at the breakdown and continues into the head-shaking third movement accompanied by an array of white-noise risers. The result is another instant GMJ & Matter classic. 

Continuing the deep, driving narrative of its partner track, “Idtritah” mesmerises with an immaculately constructed groove of rolling top-line hats and percussion, while a staccato bassline adds further gravitas. A cascading combination of melodies trip across each other with ease as a warm blanket of melodic flow and smooth delays envelops the listener, culminating a beautifully textured and ethereal mid-point break. A new plucked phrasing enters the fray in the second half to magical effect with the addition of subtle vocal textures and exquisitely placed effects creating another superb track that sits perfectly within the GMJ & Matter canon. 

Ending the year as they began, GMJ & Matter shoot for the stars once more with “Stellaris / Idtritah”.

Roger Martinez’s Higher States rounds out the year by welcoming Meeting Molly to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Russia, Meeting Molly first emerged in 2019 with an EP via Amsterdam based powerhouse Songspire. Deep and dreamy across three tracks, it set the course for what has been a remarkable four-year stretch. Beloved for his progressive minded approach, Meeting Molly would quickly build an impressive resume, notching standout projects for Juicebox Music, Meanwhile, Sound Avenue and Mango Alley, the latter of which would become his primary home. Now, capping off what has been a prolific 2023, Meeting Molly debuts on Higher States with ‘Overlook / Last Generation’. 

The charming sounds of ‘Overlook’ lead the release off and are an apt barometer of where Meeting Molly’s headspace is at; forecasting panoramic synths with layers of cleverly co-axed percussion, groovy basslines and alluring overlays. Moving effortlessly across the first movement, its pulsating rhythms and enlightening themes emerge in sequential fashion, travelling to the edge of a bucolic hinterland. Fully realized across a timely break, Meeting Molly's mesmerizing melodies and tranquil tones marry beautifully, consciously withholding energy as emotion rises, before segueing into a glowing, mood-lifting finale. 

The EP’s second and final selection ‘Last Generation’ continues the dreamy tone set by its predecessor. Smooth, effortless and full of serene energies, it's a creation built around meditative melodies and temperate harmonies. There's a strong sense of cruising across the first movement, one that allows the listener to relish in Meeting Molly’s rippling grooves and pastoral haze, perfectly setting up a blissed out break and a finale that is equal parts tranquil and emotive.

'Juicebox Music's 73rd release welcomes back foglight for his debut 2-track EP featuring "Reformer" & "Circuit Valley". The Lebanese artist made his initial appearance on our imprint through a special remix of ARTN's "Lopos" earlier this year. Better known to his friends and family as Gerome Mouawad, as well as having success under the name 'Gerome' in the Trance community, his new alias 'foglight' aimed to explore the deeper side of progressive while still experimenting with his technical wizardry. Having released on Mango's 'Mango Alley', Paul Hazendonk's 'MNL', Jelly For The Babies' 'One of A Kind' & Bondarev's 'WARPP', foglight's discography showcases his focus on quality over quantity. For his latest offering on our imprint, foglight delivers "Reformer" & "Circuit Valley", a pair of club-focused tracks with tech-inspired drums, gritty bassline sequences, subtle melodics, granular fx & a whole lot of finesse.

Label-boss Praveen Achary returns to Juicebox Music for a special appearance after his small break from producing. Striving to create something that sounds different from the norm & different from each production, Praveen's work on Juicebox Music has always had a slight edge, whether it's his remixes of Simos Tagias' "Black Swan" or Eric Lune's "Wooden Bird" or even his "Fiasco" collaboration with Aman Anand. Praveen Achary's re-envisions foglight's "Circuit Valley" to create a collage of moments from hypnotic to groovy, chunky to driving and dark to light. '
