In the early hours of April 10th 2016, Howard Marks died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his four loving children.
 
Howard was many things to many people, raconteur, author, orator, comedian but he'd never released a record - this Saturday, by way of a 5 track, green vinyl EP that will change. Unfortunately Howard isn't around to hear the amazing reaction to the recordings

The music was written by Brighton based musician/producer Richard Smith with a team of close musicians Robin Peel (guitar), Toby May (drums) and former Skinny Lister bassist Dan Gray Recorded at the Metway (The Levellers Studio) in Brighton 

Howard Marks and Dylan Thomas are kindred spirits linked by geography but separate by time. When you read Dylan Thomas's poetry, your imagination usually does it in the best Welsh baritone it can muster, basically as close as it can get to Howard Marks's speaking voice. Take all of that and add the gentlest yet most evocative and stirring music and the result is Do Not Go Gentle....

This is the first we-finished-it-just-about-so-I'm-putting-it-on-soundcloud song from the third Christian Fitness record. Naturally, it's about the half-life of sperm. I hope you enjoy it. 

Recorded with Steffan Pringle and speed mastered by Anthony Chapman. Drums by Jack Egglestone. Written by me, for which I am mostly sorry.
