It’s going to be a big year for Tincture’s Luke Dalton. He's back with the follow up single from his forthcoming EP, “Tryst”, which is set to cement his place in the scene as a force to be reckoned with.

Similar Circles represents a progression in his sound, borrowing influence from acts like Shelter Point and The Knife, yet never forsaking his penchant for lush synth and sharp percussion. At it's heart, Similar Circles grapples with the fear of stagnation through routine. Though you can feel a sense of yearning, the track never quite reaches the anxious resolve it strives for - "repeating, repeating, repeating until the same things come back again".

The anticipated full-length EP from Ruben Haze is a live orientated band project with each track seething with gently building string elements alongside ethereal vocals and infectious melodies.

“We wanted to give ourselves a platform to put out music for years. Music for the ages. Ruben Haze gives us a chance to do that and throughout the past year Ruben Haze has truly taken on a life of his own.”

The enigmatic collective are as visually stimulating as they are to hear. Opting to be represented by beautifully executed artwork, the preferential ‘mature’ comic book illustrations enhance the audio wholly and will be released alongside the EP with the PDF booklet of the comic being available via iBook for free. The carefully chosen tracks include ‘City Of Dreams’, ‘Phoenix’, ‘Johnny Rocket Man’ and a collaborative effort with commercial dance phenomenon Example on ‘One Way Ticket’.

At some point in 2013, Friendly Fires, Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J Fairplay (aka The Asphodells), convened in an east London pub to discuss collaborating on new music together. The plan was to produce music that came from a place outside of their respective usual musical styles - a loose, open-ended process embarked upon for the pure joy of experimentation and collaboration rather than a specific end goal.

The collaboration came on the back of two hugely successful Friendly Fires albums – 2008’s debut Friendly Fires and 2011’s follow up Pala – and an acclaimed debut album from The Asphodells in 2013’s Ruled By Passion Destroyed By Lust, the latest in a long line of classic releases from Andrew Weatherall’s own Rotters Golf Club label.

Recording took place between Weatherall’s Shoreditch studio, The Bunker, and Friendly Fires frontman Ed Macfarlane’s basement studio just a short stroll down the road in Farringdon, using a desk that once belonged to influential German producer Konrad ‘Conny’ Plank to mix the tracks.

The result is ‘Before Your Eyes’ and ‘Velo’ - two brand new tracks that take close to ten minutes each to reveal their full hypnotic glory. The tracks will be released as a AA-sided single on 12” and download and will be the inaugural release on Friendly Fires’ own Telophase label.

I'm so happy with how this record came out and couldn't be more excited to share this with you guys today 🙏🏻

I wrote the instrumental for this a few months back and as soon as the @flybymidnight guys sent me their first vocals for it I knew we had something really special.  This track does something that I personally love to hear in pop music...it blends a feel good, almost euphoric vibe at points with a story about something that's real and a little f*cked up, creating this tension that never lets the song go too happy or too sad, just kind of letting it live somewhere in between, which is life.  The @flybymidnight guys are super super talented and the vocal melodies and harmonies on this track are so dope - be sure to follow them cause everything they do is 🔥

I love that we called this track Swimming With Sharks too, because who does that?  

Also massive thank you to Amy Birnbaum at Round Hill Music for connecting me & the Fly By guys, this record wouldn't have happened without her help.  Huge thank you to @mikeserman as well, as usual he absolutely killed the guitars on this record.
