Next up this summer on Nic Fanciulli's Saved Records is a release that we have been super excited to share with you even since we were first sent it back in 2019 and we're delighted to now be able to release the 'Nonsifa' EP from label favourite Ruben Mandolini who teams up with Riky Ild and Uness to bring you his latest outing.

Moon Harbour marks its historic 20th anniversary with a 10-track compilation of all new music. It features old friends like Marlow and Luna City Express, icons like Steve Bug and Butch and new signings like Black Circle, so it is a fine representation of the label's famous sound. 

Matthias Tanzmann founded Moon Harbour in 2000, and since then it has been at the forefront of the tech house scene. Even in the face of the major shift from vinyl to digital, a distributor going bankrupt and the coronavirus pandemic, careful A&R and Matthias's own productions have ensured the label has remained utterly relevant. The Leipzig label has released countless EPs, LPs and compilations and hosted label showcases all over the world. It has nurtured the careers of artists like Sable Sheep and Ekkohaus and has given a vital platform to new stars like Miane, Detlef and many more. 

"Evolution is a natural process and important to artists as well as to labels," explains Matthias. "Music is always redefined and subject to trends. New generations of musicians want to create their own identities through their sound. As a label, we listen to a lot of new music and try to stay open-minded within our own aesthetic range."

After a year of re-releasing classics from the label's back catalogue, the 20 Years of Moon Harbour compilation is all about fresh and exclusive music. It kicks off with Andrea Oliva's 'Return To The Dancefloor,' a bumping cut driven by naughty bass before raw percussive energy from ANEK and tense cosmic melody Black Circle. Butch layers up tribal grooves and exotic vocals, then Luna City Express mark the mid-point with the steamy house of 'Mami Wata' featuring Sunru's soulful vocals. 

Marlow throws it back with some old school piano energy on 'Corktown,' Matthias nails a perfectly slinky tech house groove on 'Binford' and Ninetoes' 'Polanco Hills' ups the pace and drives forwards. Closing out is the punchy and stripped back house of Steve Bug's 'Going Up' and Sven Tasnadi's loopy and hypnotic 'Cuckoo.'

This essential collection is further proof that Moon Harbour continues to shape the sound of contemporary European house music. Here's to the next 20 years.

In Patent Skillz 058 we present another Spanish rising star producer, one of the new references of electronic music in Spain - Okabi.
After about 15 years as a dj in clubs across the island, and around 10 dedicated to music production, OKABI, begins to gain international recognition.
His tracks are already mixed and supported by artists like:
Richie Hawtin, Nic Fanciulli, Santé, D-Unity, Fer BR, Leonardo Glovibes, Vlada Asanin, DJ PP, Sergio Fernández, etc..
In early 2013, he founded his own record label, (Kowloon Recordings). It was created with the idea of promoting his vision of music to the new market, and in general, to the world.

Steve Lawler makes his debut on Hector Couto’s thriving Roush imprint to kick off 2017, with both Couto and Spanish talent Cuartero providing two stellar remixes.
2016 has seen Hector Couto’s Roush take a firm hold within the world of house, with releases from industry heavyweights including the likes of DJ W!ld, Steve Rachmad, Santé, Neverdogs, DJ T. and more this year alone. Next up is VIVa boss Steve Lawler, who finally releases ‘People Having Sex’ as his first offering on the label.
“I’m very happy to now release this track. I made it a couple of years ago around the time I made ‘House Record’ that was eventually released on Hot Creations. I was experimenting with my old Roland machines, trying to re-create a sound that I was aware of in the late 80’s. This track ‘People Having Sex’ was never sent out to anyone at the time and just kept it for my DJ sets. Now 2 years on, and under the desire of many people asking what this track is throughout all of this summer, I have decided to release it and where better than Hector Couto’s House label Roush” - Steve Lawler
Lawler’s original opens up the EP in fine style, revealing ever-evolving 303 lines, mischievous vocals, 808 claps and precise percussion patterns that combine to combine unearth a record unquestionably intended for the dancefloor. Next up, Roush boss Hector Couto’s interpretation firmly places its emphasis on percussion, with a driving low-slung groove and rugged drum licks guiding the production into an energy-fuelled workout across five and a half minutes.
Lastly, Cuartero’s remix shapes up the package by utilising the original’s playful vocal over a bubbling lead line whilst a series of glitches and pops ebb and flow amongst shuffling hats in the background, rounding out yet another impressive package from the team at Roush. Steve Lawler ‘People Having Sex’ is out on Roush on January 30th 2017.

The next release on Roush Label comes from Italian tag-team, Luigi Rocca and RUDE. Their 'Lagger Master' EP consists of three fresh original cuts, loaded with plenty of contemporary tech house flavours and geared perfectly for the dancefloor. The title track opens the show with blistering pace. Piercing drums and sharp hat rhythms are accompanied by a rough and groovy bassline, tied up nicely with offbeat percussion, vocal and synth injections. Expect big buildups with huge amounts of energy and hammering drops. 'Matto Grosso' follows up with a more deep tech feel, the kind of stuff that Luigi is well known for with his 303Lovers imprint. An essentially sophisticated number with lots of tasty low-frequency action driven throughout. Don't get too relaxed, though, as the transitions will sneak up on you out of nowhere with their unexpected extremities. Finally, 'The Switch' reverts back to uptempo tech, driven by its emphasis on percussion and groove. Heavyset kicks and a rumbling sub bounce the track along nicely, being supplemented by subtle melodic hits and a catchy vocal kook.
