I produced this show covering a brief to create an international music show for a 6music type demographic.

I collaborated with a course mate. We wrote the script together and collected voice notes recommendations from people we knew were fans of the genre. She presented and I edited.

This was created remotely, in the midst of lockdown. As was all of my coursework, except for the last weeks when we got to use the studios for our live news days.

Throughout my life, I've been obsessed with capturing moments in time whether that be in a diary, recording a conversation with a friend or making a silly film on an old camcorder.

For this 10 min piece, I had no brief. I was free to do anything, but I was in lockdown. So I decided to use what I had around me.

One day looking through my old camcorder tapes, I felt like I was travelling through time, seeing all these past versions of myself. 

Coming out of it I felt odd in my body like I should be smaller, a younger me.

I wanted to capture this strange feeling of being pulled through time, through memory triggers. And capture the confusing but freeing feelings of no longer being the person in your memories.

A patchwork monologue of 13 people's thoughts on love. 

Brief: 5 min piece without a narrator.​

I sent out requests on different social media pages asking people to send me voice notes talking about the confusing feelings that come with falling in love. I provided prompts like:

Have you thought you were in love and then realised it wasn't love?

In hindsight was it dependency, infatuation or lust, or something else? 

What made you think it was love?

How would you define love knowing what you know now?

Using the qualitative research skills I developed in my BA Education Studies, I coded the hours of audio into themes using Adobe Audition and Excel. Then using this code, I put together a collage of the participants' voices to create one monologue that best portrayed the similarities and differences in their feelings towards love and relationships.
