Ruby Rose Fox, the soulful and daring rock 'n' roll vocalist with a trail of awards behind her, is back with another unexpected project. After stunning audiences with two full-length albums and three one-woman multimedia shows, Ruby is releasing her third album, “Carpetbaggers.” This time, she's expanding her signature hard-hitting soulful sound into pop fiction, teaming up with Chicago and Nashville-based producer, Colin Sipos. 

As a recent transplant to Nashville, Ruby is exploring new themes of displacement and connection in her songwriting. "Carpetbaggers" is an imaginative take on a group of fictional friends in Nashville struggling to connect in a "new normal." Despite her reputation for "arty, edgy rock 'n' roll that transports listeners to another world" [Boston Herald], Ruby's new music draws inspiration from cinematic singer-songwriters like Andy Shauf and pop icon Annie Lennox. 

In "Franklin, do...," the first single off of “Carpetbaggers,” Ruby introduces characters in a narrative that unfolds over the course of the album. It’s new territory from her usual deep and heavy sound, while Sipos's production delivers engaging and dance-worthy musical storytelling. "Franklin, do..." will be released publicly to all platforms on June 9th, 2023. 

Ruby is also making waves with her latest project, MuscleMusic, which takes her deeply political music into action. In 2022, she launched a groundbreaking mental health app and nervous-system regulation gym designed specifically for artists, offering trauma-informed support and education to over 500 artists worldwide. She said, "Art can only take us so far; this art project is about directly changing a deeply broken mental health system." As Ruby’s character Sheila sings in “Franklin, do…”: “I’m working on myself. I’m working on my mental health,” so many artists are orienting toward a new paradigm of what it means to be an artist. This includes working on their mental health, sparking a cultural shift for this generation.
