As premiered by Majestic Casual, GRADES' remix of Brandy's classic R&B anthem 'I Wanna Be Down' is the first bootleg in a series to be released online. Brandy’s original version of ‘I Wanna Be Down’ was a defining hit of the Nineties R&B when it was first released in 1994. The track topped Billboard’s Hot R&B / Hip-Hop Songs chart and reached #6 on Billboard Hot 100. 

“I was born in the Nineties and grew up in the Nineties listening to a lot of that style of R&B which was a big influence on me,” says G R A D E S. “It’s a song I love to play in my DJ sets and always goes down really well, so I wanted to put a modern spin on an old classic.”

We went on a binge for a while making "chord memory" beats. 

The idea is that you map a chord to a specific key and then play different patterns to create something new. 

Waspy crafted these vibes and the next morning Shadi did the whole vocal in less than an hour before Tonez added the final synth stabs to make the chorus pop more. When songs come together that quick you don't ask questions. 

Here in Vancouver the sun is finally starting to come out and everyone is heading to hang at the beach. This is our soundtrack for that :)
