Since its inception in 2001, the POP AMBIENT compilation series has played host to an incessantly growing pool of highly distinctive artists, yet somehow managed to stay focussed on its overarching aesthetic ideas. Due in no small part to the series' curator Wolfgang Voigt, each installment was able to create a conclusive narrative, succesfully deploying new talent alongside household names. POP AMBIENT 2015 is no different, introducing debutant soundsmiths THORE PFEIFFER and MAX WUERDEN while welcoming returning Pop Ambient staples such as LEANDRO FRESCO, ULF LOHMANN or JENS-UWE BEYER.

Sitting here, like yesterday, like tomorrow, every day. Sitting. With the world in hand and not one more second than anybody else.

Sat at the desk, the table, the computer, on the bench I put in my bathroom for when the pain is too heavy, on the bed when it was too hard to get up yesterday, tomorrow, every day. I always chose the same seat, the same self checkout, the same breakfast, the same lunch and dinner. I don’t have more minutes than any of you.

I sit and I watch all I can, I get up just to sit back down, I get up yesterday, tomorrow, every day. It’s all good, I can do it, I’m here to feel it all, every hour I check in with the world and I, and I, and I manage to stay present, in this moment and the last one we shared, just past midnight.

It’s all good.

Even if it wasn’t worth it in the end. You experienced it. That’s all it is. That’s all there was required of you. You just didn’t know it, wondering why you saw the blank paged months stack up when everyone seemed so busy. So busy yesterday, tomorrow, everyday, not a single open book all year around. A whole life buried under the weight of time, running after something that was never meant to matter.

But at least the pixels on the screen were bigger than the previous quarter.

The EP “Braemar" sees American duo Bengalfuel supplying friends of Median Recordings with three slices of warm ambient bliss. Altogether, “Leaf Bed," “October” and “Whale” resemble an auditory serene ocean journey, which creates a solid basis for winter hibernation.

Joe LiTrenta and Lou DiBenedetto hereby continue to create stellar ambient soundscapes. “Braemar” is the stunning result of a mutual interest in cats and all things paranormal.
